Sorry Sage, my comments weren't to appear superior at all, just to let SteveRain know his comments were validated by an independent source.

I have not heard or read the exact details I have and likely providing those would give away the source (and implicate others). I know the general story has been stated here. Gotta believe the story will break soon enough.

the story is that he has had an affair and another child is it not??

Been watching you fight the good fight but don't have the time or energy these days. BTW, I have confirmed your Shart information from a source I cannot reveal. Holy crap! Was even worse than I feared and was told his Chicago palace up for sale. Haven't had the time to check that out but am guessing it is if the story can be believed. Also explains why he was "benched" for some games during Sochi.

All I'll say is, if he does go, I hope it's for more than picks and promises. I had really hoped it would be for that 2nd line C but since Stanley picked up Richards without giving anything up, unlikely to see #8 moved for another player. If he goes, hope he lands in a good place. Will be the Hawks version of Lou Brock when it's all said and done.

- savvyone-1

He wasn't in the line up for one game in Sochi. They did have a tad of depth on that team.

Thanks for saving me the keystrokes. I think the Hawks have already had their Lou Brock comparable in the Phil Esposito trade.

So unless Toews and Kane go in a trade with Leddy for someone else's scraps I don't think that ever becomes a reality.

As far as I know, I'm good with them and vice versa. Bartl and I have talked and found we had a lot more common ground than we realized.

It's amazing what happens when you have an open, respectful dialog and look for common ground—instead of just looking to hate and attack on Twitter.

I have to block a few 12 year olds with too much time on their hands every couple of weeks. Twitter allows anonymous (both by choice and sheer lack of anything valid to contribute) people to take shots at people who actually add value. Probably my least favorite form of social media for that and other reasons. I also love people who want to debate finer points in 140 characters or less. Because that makes so much sense.

Anyway, all good. Thx Steve. And Elbows.

That trade pre-dates my Hawk fandom by a few years and Pit Martin was pretty much my fave player as a kid. Then I read years later that he was part of that infamous trade.

I must be the only one here who doesn't have a source feeding him details about the Sharp scandal.

But it's nice of everyone to feed me bits and pieces, although I would rather someone actually stop acting superior and post the whole story.

But - that's just me feeling inadequate.

STL,

I have nothing of Hawk substance to add, but did represent well on Tuesday and won our Al bundy 35 and up trophy for second straight season..(so many people to thank).

Yes it is beer league hockey, but our league has developed very nice to have 4 very solid teams, that are re drafted each season. So there is a lot of respect and a ton of competitiveness.

We put together 40 and over and 50 and over tournament teams and take it even a step further.

I am sure that was TMI, but appreciated your well wishes the other day as I was out the door.

You guys ever read what Dave Tippet says about valuing defensemen?

This tweet has a blurb: https://twitter.com/ducks...84061487989026816/photo/1

It was also linked in this interesting article about how defensemen are paid, and there are a lot of odd choices. Tippet's quote makes me wonder what Leddy's possession numbers are like. And if a stat could be devised that tracks shots allowed per minute or something like that when a player is on the ice.

Yep heard more details yesterday and I'm done saying anything about it. It's just getting started.

I appreciate you acknowledging it's legit. I'm not one for bs and while I bicker at times with guys on here odds are in person statements come across a lot less condescending. Oh well.

Sharp smoke is real. The more I think about it based on the latest drama I think he's the salary dump.

Poor eric and Kathy. The mix may blow up from uneducated women callers burning down the air waves ranting about their sharpy.

Sharp the person. Is an $!#÷er. And one day McDonough is going to come out of his perch and unleash his reverse marketing boom and then you'll know he's gone. Just like he did with Sosa. It's coming. Not a matter of IF just WHEN.

Leddy's possession numbers are actually great. His CF% was 57.1 this year, 2nd best on the team. Granted, he also saw the lowest quality of competition among defensemen, but again that's partially based on deployment choices made by Q to optimize his roster. Keith/Seabrook also got more offensive zone starts this year for the same reason.

So his possession numbers are good, but that might not be the most important thing if the Hawks have other possession positive players in the pipeline and/or need him to switch to a more defensive/less sheltered role. Can handle the latter?

SCH has some nice data on Leddy btw: http://www.secondcityhock...ddy-blackhawks/in/5572997

Meh. I don't really care about his off ice life. Unless he murdered someone, who gives a poop. Its his problem.

And yet. You pined for Kesler. Interesting.

Sharp is fake.

Kesler is exactly what you were pining for in regards to pk center who takes time off Toews workload.

I also don't give a crap but sadly this is an image based organization. Thus the mighty kane sit down

A professional athlete thats fake? GET OUTTA TOWN! I bet half our team is "fake". Who cares. I support the team that plays on the ice, not my business to care or judge the people they are off it. Definitely not gonna let that cloud my judgement on certain players and whether or not we should trade them.

Exactly. I can only infer what Sharp has done based on comments, but if the Hawks FO ran Susannah Collins out of town I can't believe Sharp hasn't been traded yet.

So the Tiger Woods of the NHL is supposedly in big trouble, unless of course it can be swept under the carpet somehow like it was when other prominent players did domething regarded as morally indefensible (one of them being a current owner).

I might be all wrong, but my guess is there is more time being spent on a coverup than where to park #10's butt for the remainder of his contract.

Yeah i bet the off ice stuff happen to a million athletes a year. I don't like it but like you said it is his problem. While I don't like that stuff there have been worse things done. But if it has helped the front office re-think keeping him as part of the core and has them trading him, I'm all for that

I never wanted Kesler. There are other players who can do what he does and cheaper.

Sharp is only fake to people who buy into the marketing. I don't care. If they sucked, all the marketing in the world wouldn't make them popular.

Every organization is image driven. No matter who or what their product is.

this I don't disagree with. Especially if the now can work. As in 12 months and then he's gone. Agents don't come out and panic for no reason and there is legit smoke around sharpy.

If sharp here means another cup you take it unless his production can be replaced internally through a few guys or externally.

What nobody knows is where 10&88 stand.
