All emotion and hype aside, if you are Vancouver, don't you minimally want an NHL ready player with some upside? In the deal? So, as I stated before...ultimately if it comes down to Bonino vs TT, how hard of a decision is that. Since Saad was not on the table.
- TrueGrit

Believe what you want but the Hawks were in the lead without saad or tt and Benning couldn't do it. Only when Anaheim gave him their 2nd o 2 1st round picks did Anaheim vault ahead.

Now would a tt have landed kesler? We will never know but the fact a package of player, prospect and pick had them in the pictire.....

Has it been reasonably confirmed that TT was the wrench that stopped the cogs in the deal?
- Q...argh

After it was all said and done, Benning said something about they tried to get "the top offensive prospect" in hockey. He said the Ducks deal was the best one when that failed. Assuming he meant TT, then it was confirmed.

you can figure it.

I will say this I have never met John or savvyone face to face. I've met a few guys in here but what is crazy....is how do.so lay people have the same story and not have heard it from one another?

Again, it's not a taunting measure by any means but there are always people watching and I may be a chicken ... but I'm not going to be one to broadcast the details.

It'll come out. If not I'm at gamed and shoot me a pm and we can meet over a $10 beer.

A $10 beer? You must be one of them.

What did i say. Teuvo vs what Kesler brings to Anaheim. That's the gamble bowman rolled. So let's sit back and revisit down the line. If tt ever lives up to.the hype my money is he's at rw.
- SteveRain

Yes, let´s wait couple of years and see where he´s at. Sometimes it feels like many of you want Teuvo to fail just because it would make Bowman look silly? But let see what really happens. It wasn´t so long ago when Saad was just Blackhawks pr departments hyped young player and how did that turn out to be?

I think the way Hawks are handling with him is healthy. He is not going to be rushed and that is why they went after Kesler and that is why they acquired Richards. Hype is coming from the media not from the front office.

They didn´t want to lose him because they see very good player in him in the near future. He has cap friendly salary for next three years and that might be one of the biggest reasons that made them keep him?

I can´t promise anything what he will become or not. But I do know he has the star potential. He only needs to get stronger and familiar with the north american style and rink. Those can be teached. The skills that he has can´t.

OK! I'll talk! In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max's toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog... When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I got nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out... But the worst thing I ever done....

You guys - you, Steve, Savvy - are amazing: can't talk about it, can't say any more, people will get in trouble, against HB policy - but you do keep talking about it, with innuendo that you can't / won't substantiate.

I don't know what he did do - probably something - but now it's grown to "another player's wife/girl".

Un - phucking - believable.

Maybe we just shelve that topic all together.

From all accounts, it sounds like Benning saw in TT what Bowman does and considered his potential worth more than Bonino's current stock. So it was probably would have been a harder decision than you give credit (if TT had been on the table). Still, VAN got a good player.

Edit for semantics.

Okay, I admit it, the front office ordered me to start the Mayberry thread after the Barney Fife comment so they could identify who the real subversives are. It didn't take long for us to find out. I hope you can still consider me just one of the guys.
- Canardhawk

Now it all makes sense. Get out of here Narc. Go back to Rocky and John. And take your mayberry stuff with you

Who cares?? All this sharp rumor stuff is rediculous. If they had an issue while having a drink?? Really who cares. Sharp is a damn good hockey player who struggled in the playoffs. Lots of them do. He's human. I have no doubt it will work itself out. If there was cheating issue well ummm takes two to dance. So really let it go. These are pro athletes. If it becomes a real issue I have no doubt the powers that be will step in as in Q.

Don't try and throw us off the track here with that "wish I worked" routine. Wish I had a nickel for every time I've heard that one.
