Not trying to, on its own. That's why it's the first time I've ever brought it up. BUT, we hearing he popped Kane in the face, and may have knocked up a teammates' wife or girlfriend, tie them together ... bully? bumhole? both? all? none? - Q...argh
So without any details - just a couple of "a source told me" and "I can't say more" - it's gone to he knocked up a teammates girl.
Nothing on Deadspin, nothing on any of the more gossipy web sites, nothing - in this age of leaks and bloggers who care little about the actual events - on any media, credible or not - months later.
Maybe there's truth to it - maybe he's the biggest ass-hole in the world, I don't know - and no one has given out enough information TO know. A lot of "gee, I wish I could tell the whole story" and bits and pieces.
But I'm sure, by this time next week, this will have turned into he was screwing McDonough's wife, or Wirtz' son. |

A couple of seasons ago, there was a bit of insight into that relationship that kind of just blew by with the breeze.
Kane had a spectacular game, and afterward was interviewed on the ice. The interviewer (don't remember who, maybe Sara) asked him about a particular play where he fed Sharp a great pass for a goal. Kane responded (paraphrasing):
" ... Sharpie wanted the puck, so I got it to him. If I didn't, I would have never heard the end of it."
The last sentence of that was direct quote. Nice when you get a young guy, still pumped up after a game, who hasn't learned all of the do's and don't s of the media yet. That kind of then and there told me a lot about the selfish player Sharp is.
Of course, so does his penchant of shooting into the crest when he doesn't really have a shot, rather than wait for a teammate or two to get into position to support, or worse, doing that when there ARE teammates open and with a better shot ... - Q...argh
I remember a similar interview where he said the exact same thing about Toews, when Toews was struggling. He said he passed him the puck so he could stop hearing him saying, "Why didn't you pass me the puck, I was open?"
Does that now bring into question Toews character? I also remember a very recent interview with Kane, during the playoffs I believe where he said that Sharp was the player he was closest to on the time, like a brother to him. All this rumour and speculation is just overactive imaginations trying to explain away Sharp's poor playoff performance. Which makes little sense because I remember most of his teammates trying to get him the puck when he was struggling, and celebrating in earnest with him when finally did get that first goal.
If they were going to dump him to avoid a scandal or alleviate some kind of tension in the dressing room, they would have done it by now. They would have made salary room before July 1st so they could make a real run at Stasny. They might eventually move him, but it'll be a hockey deal, not a soap-opera one. |

I'm not saying Patrick sharp killed JFK. But if you had my sources, then you'd Believe me. I just can't give you any facts or details though. It wouldn't be fair to the warren commission to share any more than I already have. There are CIA employees who read this blog. TRUST ME! |

That's why I wish that people would keep that kind of stuff to themselves, unless they are at least 99.9% SURE that it is a FACT. Many people ... yes, myself included ... tend to jump on it. |

The Hawks have enough waiver exempt players in Rockford for it not to be an issue should anyone need to be called up.
Because, who really cares if the lose guys like Cumiskey, Rundblad or Regin to waivers? Those guys are just flotsam anyway. Losing them won't cripple the organization. - Elbows15
Pretty simple for many of us to see.
They are NOT trading big pieces off a roster that Could have gone to the Final but a shot off Nick leddy's body bounced up and over into the net.
They are not adding a more like 5' 11' Nieslen by way of Sharp.
It goes against everything they are under presure to still accomplish.
Keep waiting fellas for this dismantle....you may be year ahead of it. |

I am afraid of his value, though. I do think Sharp packaged with a leddy would get you a nice return. But who knows? At least he doesn't need to be traded for a center that can play NOW. I wouldn't mind a tough roster-ready winger and a prospect center. But ideally I would like some kind of center back - tomcat24
Maybe Carl Haeglin and J.T. Miller from NY Rangers?

Couldn't have said it better myself, I figure if something DID happen, it would be on Deadspin or TMZ or something like that by now. Yes, it's plausible that they could have not found out yet, but it seems rather unlikely these days. Frankly, I wish this particular topic would go away, and we could just talk about hockey (but yeah I know it's the summer so blah blah blah blah). |

Well.if.john can't blog about then I can't comment or post what I know. Sadly this.is the world we live in. There's hawk employees on here and I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
Yes you read right. Hawks employees on. Here. - SteveRain
I've heard things. And basically the same story from multiple quality sources.
I'm not here to do TMZ crap. Even when I was pretty down on Kane's off-ice act, I stayed away from the gossip column crap (at least the specific innuendo). And I think I have learned from those days as well. I will just say this, I did not report much of what I heard then.
Also, HB has a pretty staunch policy against delving into players' personal lives.
Whatever happened (or didn't) it is likely a sad matter that affects the lives of more people than the player. Sharp is 32 years old. People make mistakes (and that is in no way my saying he actually did).
But I will report on whether I hear the Hawks are shopping a player. And I have heard his name has been in play all summer. |

legit top 6 guys who have won a selke? I can't think of one. And where your odds was 50/50 to land?
Name me one. Not being confrontational but I can't think of one. - SteveRain
Datsyuk, Toews. That's pretty good company. I don't think you can blithely say that there were a bunch of other guys who do what Kesler does for less. |

Per Benning they were. They were in it until.the end no reason for him to bs that when he's already traded him.
It's over. Kesler is a duck and I just hope he doesn't haunt this team for what could have been.
What I do find ironic is Richards spurned this team back when he went to Dallas. Tallon had a trade and supposedly Richards said no. - SteveRain
They were. The whole "they weren't interested in him anyway (which is further dumbed down to "because Teuvo is ready to be 2C")" argument is just ridiculous. After a while, ALL of North America knew the Hawks were hard after Kesler.
I will give Bowman credit, he went hard after him. That said, Bowman might have placed a lot of his career on the development of Teravainen (who probably isn't ready for anything but maybe some spot play at wing this year, hence WHY they went after Kesler and signed Richards). |
