That would be the worst possible trade nyr can make. Trade away stepan and hagelin? Then we have only 2 centers, brassard and moore.
You clearly have no idea what the rangers need. Stepan is at the moment as untouchable as mcdonagh.
This is such a silly comment...
- Jimboou
A trade with the rangers makes no sense anyways. Theres no one on the rangers roster who makes sense as a bottom six forward (especily center) with a very low cap hit. Not discounting any conversations happening but its either for prospects and picks or something out of left field.
Stepan makes no sense because of his cap hit plus the hawks dont need another smallish center. |

Let's see, you're on a Hawk blog giving a Hawk poster grief for not considering what's best for the Rangers. Talk about a silly comment.
I'm sure all the trade proposals on the NYR blog are carefully considered with respect to the trade partner. |

Stan wouldn't have gone over the cap without a plan. You can judge Stan for his trades or draft choices, but his ability to manage the cap is second to none.
I have no issue with Sharp being traded for cap reasons, although I'd explore other alternatives. But all this talk of trading him for other reasons, when we don't have the facts, in unnecessary. - DarthKane
Don't think that talking about trading him for other reasons is unnecessary. Look, their are rumors out there, and honestly if true, I would get him out of there. Don't think that it effects Kane moving forward?
If rumors are not true, then they are sitting in the room together laughing about it, or someone somehow has addressed the ridiculousness of it.
I think you sit back, watch what happens over the summer, and you'll be able to figure out how much of it is true.
Kane is resigning a big extension, he has say about resigning, can't see how he says "Ya no big deal, I'll resign, just make sure that nothing happens to Sharpy, I want him here with us for the long run", if the rumor is true.
More like, "I'll resign, but get his a$$ out of here ". |

I agree, he made the most sense to me to deal this off-season if he could bring a decent return, regardless of any rumors. Someone has to go next off-season, you really don't want to be backed into a corner where teams know you have to dump salary. I think Stan might have shot himself in the foot this off-season signing a couple of guys and going over the cap before clearing space. - Hemingways
I have used my authori-TAY and settled this! I traded Sharp for 2 bags of Cheesey Poofs and some powdered donut pancakes!

Sharp really did seem like the big brother to kane and others. He was the big practical joker, too. Guess you never know. But Kane and sharp always seemed like they really got along. Of course we know what happens to guys when a woman is involved - tomcat24
A couple of seasons ago, there was a bit of insight into that relationship that kind of just blew by with the breeze.
Kane had a spectacular game, and afterward was interviewed on the ice. The interviewer (don't remember who, maybe Sara) asked him about a particular play where he fed Sharp a great pass for a goal. Kane responded (paraphrasing):
" ... Sharpie wanted the puck, so I got it to him. If I didn't, I would have never heard the end of it."
The last sentence of that was direct quote. Nice when you get a young guy, still pumped up after a game, who hasn't learned all of the do's and don't s of the media yet. That kind of then and there told me a lot about the selfish player Sharp is.
Of course, so does his penchant of shooting into the crest when he doesn't really have a shot, rather than wait for a teammate or two to get into position to support, or worse, doing that when there ARE teammates open and with a better shot ... |

G'morning Q. Don't know about the Rangers as trade partners from the Hawks standpoint; unless like someone before mentioned they have picks/prospects the Hawks are keen on.
Kreider would be good but I don't see him being available. |

Mornin' D, agreed. Anything that may have actually been in the works probably died after Ottawa moved without us. We'll all be griping about some salary dump trades sometime between now and game 1. |

I love how it's open season to pile on Sharp. How he's suddenly the worst person who has ever worn a Hawk jersey. Kane's comments were exactly the same as comments all Hawk players were making about each other at the time. Maybe there was truth to them and perhaps not. But I think it was Byfuglien who told one of the reporters that Kane wore Batman and Robbin pyjamas, I suppose that was Buff telling the truth in an unguarded moment as well?

I'd have a problem if it's a dump where 10, 27 or 8 concerned, 23 and 32 not so much. Stan should be able to get something useful now or in the future for the first three.
Though anyone thinking we get another top 6 fwd back for Sharp isn't being realistic; can't take on another big salary. |

So the Tiger Woods of the NHL is supposedly in big trouble, unless of course it can be swept under the carpet somehow like it was when other prominent players did domething regarded as morally indefensible (one of them being a current owner).
I might be all wrong, but my guess is there is more time being spent on a coverup than where to park #10's butt for the remainder of his contract. - RickJ
And the longer they wait it seems like the cover up will consume all their time with him. If all this crap is true, then a salary dump at or before the draft was the most prudent. Drop him - and the potential sideshow - for a pick and prospect. $5.9M off the books on a cap-heavy team can easily be explained. Again, only necessary for the image-conscious team. |

Talk about trying to make something out of nothing...At least imo...All that he said is he wouldn't have heard the end of it...He was just ribbing Sharp, as Sharp has ripped on him, and Buff used to...and everyone else...It was a joke, and I really think you are blowing that comment out of proportion |

NHL was $80m short in their revenue projections this year. Bettman has said revenue increase for next year will be about 5% leading to a cap of $72.5. People cannot anticipate being bailed out by a large increase in cap. |

Not trying to, on its own. That's why it's the first time I've ever brought it up. BUT, we hearing he popped Kane in the face, and may have knocked up a teammates' wife or girlfriend, tie them together ... bully? bumhole? both? all? none? |
