Yeah I read that post about the Hawks and Rangers as well. I was laughing when they said the Rangers have cap space. I don't see any deal that makes sense there.

Maybe we are getting lucky and Toews has quietly pulled the "I want to be traded to the Rangers" card so they are looking to move him.

Everytime I hear the name Tanner, I think of Tanner Boyle from the Bad News Bears. That may be the only other Tanner I know.

They also just lost Mike Fisher for at least 4 months. Ruptured his Achilles. So all in favor of the Rangers offering a Ribeiro a contract they better do it now. Gotta think Nashville explores that option.

With the signing options dwindiling for the Rangers to fill their holes i just want to throw out a lineup that would be fun but HIGHLY unlikely. If Sather could pull this off I would die...

Nash(7.8) - E.Staal(8.25) - MSL (5.6)
Zucc(2) - Step (3) - Kreider(3.25)
Hags(2.25) - Moore(1.5) - Fast(8K)
Glass(1.45) - Mueller(6K) - Miller(8K)

Girardi(5.5) - Mac(4.7)
Boyle(4.5) - Staal(3.9)
Klein(2.9) - Kostka(6K)

Leaves about 200K in cap space so this lineup leaves no room for error. But i would be onboard with this.

I just wanna ask why you were against signing a guy like Stralman because it block prospects the Rangers have? Fine, I understand that. But you are also really fond of the idea of the Rangers trading for a legit first line center. That scenario would like cost depth, kids and and draft picks. What I'm really getting at is why you are against it when resigning a guy that has given good years to Rangers vs not being against it when it comes to aging or decline players from other teams?

Ill answer it this way...we don't have a bonafide center anywhere in the org but we have close to 3-5 guys capable of what Stralman can do. And were in a win now mode. Hence it be foolish in my opinion to keep a player for 5 years when someone likely equal to him is already in the system (when Boyle is up). If stralman wanted two years i wouldve been on your sode of te arguement. Now, If those prospects don't pan out so be it, but if you have 5 guys long term committed your effectively giving those guys no chance. I have nothing against Stralman. Could it be we don't have enough money for forwards right because we have so much locked up in the defense already? Plus we have a goalie that taking a huge number as it is. It just doesn't seem wise to keep so many guys on defense and another costly one

Not everyone sees the need for a top end center like I do. To which I say, I think those opinions are wrong. Look at the past cup winners and tell me they all don't have better talent then us at center. And we have the eat goalie in the leauge.

Alot of you guys rate our players way higher then other teams players. You sir are the perfect example of that

Ok fine. Sorry if I think depth is better than no depth. This year's Blackhawk team is a perfect example of that. I actually hope the Rangers sell the farm for the likes of Staal or Thornton now.
