Legwand may have been the best center left and Ottawa signed him to a solid contract. He should center the second there.
i liked this signing by ottawa.
i actually think they'll have him center the 3rd line, probably with a couple of younger guys on his wing (lazar, hoffman, puempel, etc)
i think ottawa's 1st and 2nd line centers will be turris and zibanejad |

The good thing about Ribeiro is that you might be able to get a $4-5 million type talent for a $1 million. The bad thing is that he is apparently having some real serious personal issues, and you risk injecting a cancer into your room. Is it worth the risk? Maybe, considering you can always waive the guy at a small cost if it turns out bad. - Pete V
Exactly, get him cheap and if it doesnt work out, cut ties. No prior affiliation to NYR. Another option could be Mueller, not sure how he will rebound after a year away from hockey though |

We definetely aren't as deep as we were last year but I think Dom Moore is good enough and safe enough to be our 3rd line center. Issue is what happens when injuries occur, and they definitely will. Miller and Lindberg as 4a and 4b need a lot to prove if they're gonna play as many minutes as Boyle did. I guess we can always pick up a wanderer mid season when it fits the cap better. Or if we are really struggling, pull of a monster deal involving Nash. |

Of course he's going to say that. If he was still a member of the Flyers or any other Metro team he'd be calling Crosby and Malkin whiny little brats and saying how dirty they are. But now that he's one of them he has to defend them verbally.
I'm going to quote Mike Rupp on this one and say this about Downie :"You're fu*&ing irrelevant!" |

I get what you're saying though I will reserve judgement on the depth issue until we find out whether the young guys are ready to take hold of jobs. If Miller plays like he is capable then that will improve our depth.

By the way, pretty off topic but a chick I know partied with Ryan Callahan in Miami last weekend. She said she brought up the Rangers trade and he's still really bitter about it. Oldschool was dead on when he said they had a deal in place and Sather snaked him. Sather traded him away shortly after they agreed on the terms of the deal.
Irrelevant now but pretty fcked up. |

Really now. Steve Downie would never dress in a playoff game to go after someone. Those loser Pens fans make that sequence out to be Carcillo vs Gaborik there.

That whole Staal/Crosby saga in that series was just playoff hockey. It was rough, nasty at times, but you move on. It also takes two to tango there, but Penguin fans don't want to hear about all the stick work, slew footing & oh yea, B!tching & moaning Crosby does. |

Cheapest fvcking low-life thing in hockey. I still remember when someone slew-footed Bill Berg and he broke his ankle from it.
Cindy and his ugly duckling buddy Mindy Malkin are slew-foot butt buddies.
I hate that sh!t with a passion |

When I played hockey, nothing & I mean nothing was dirtier to me than a slew foot. Completely gutless, from behind & it can really take you out in a number of ways.
I think it was Bill Lindsay or someone on Florida in 96/97 that broke Bill Berg's leg. He was lost for the whole playoffs & he was a real good grinding playoff type defensive forward. |

The staal hit to crosbys head did look bad -no denying that- but
he isnt the type of player who tagets peoole to take them out like that.
Hes no pronger. There is a big height discrepency among
Other things; Just got to let it go as a hockey play gone slightly
Wrong and nothing more. Orpik has caused a lot more injuries than
Staal by a long shot and they act like hes a model citizen. |

Orpik is now in Washington but I got you, very borderline dirty player there too. Funny I never once in his whole career heard anyone accuse Staal of being dirty EVER, until this past Pens series & all of a sudden he's Matt Cooke? Who coincidentally played a lot of years in Pittsburgh. |

Ahhh!!! Someone remember that! Berg was awesome. Would score you 10-15 goals and play that checking/grind game that fit the team really well. He was having a good season until then. I still remember him trying to skate all the way across the ice with his leg broken. Guy was all heart. Great team player. |
