I completely agree. I think the bottom six is looking stronger, and more skilled than last year... (as Bolland was out most of the year) Hopefully they let the 4th line actually play, and don't revert to 4 minutes a game with Orr and Co. gooning it up.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing Holland get some ice time.

That's what puzzles me as I agree with you that Holland belongs on this team. But we just signed two other centerman in Santorelli and Kontiola. Now Kontiola forked over 600,000 of his own money to buy out his contract. I am sure he didn't do that to come here and play on the 4th line. I am guessing he is the centerman for the third line playing with Komorov. Could even have Santorelli as the other winger as he plays wing/center. But where does that leave Holland? He is way too good and be a complete waste on the 4th line.

Do you think maybe Kadri moves to the wing and have a Kadri-Holland-Lupul line?

All this depth usually befuddles everyone in the summer, but come the regular season, we'll be looking for more of it.

Don't sweat it: all those guys can equally play the wing or center, so Holland will get a good look in some capacity.

Key is that there's a lot of 1-year deals and Marlies grads looking to duke it out to eek out a career in the NHL, which is only going to benefit the team.

Last year we had less of that in the bottom six, and it showed.

yeah I am glad about the one way deals. Given them a year to decide to decide who they offer a longer contract too. Plus a year from now Gauthier will be ready and I think he will be our 3rd line guy for a long time.

I think reamer will get more starts to showcase him to other teams to get some interest in him. I don't care if they end up keeping him if he can embrace the roll and play well when called upon. I like the guy but he has to take the bull by the horns somehow and not sulk.

Anyone hear what Nonis was asking for reamer. I thought I saw someplace that he wanted at least a 2nd round pick but to me if that was the case some teams would have taken that offer.

Agreed with this 10x better team I front of him I see them showcasing and dishing him off 1st quarter of the year.

4th is a safe bet. 3rd if he reaches potential.

He'll likely start the season on the 2nd line to get a chance to redeem himself, but my bet is he's on the 3rd line by Christmas with Santorelli or Frattin taking his spot.

You gotta think Carlyle will try to revisit the chemistry frattin had with kadri.

However, frattin is going to have prove himself and work his way back up the depth chart

Makes sense they'd extend him now before they revisit and it works out and if it doesn't it's 800k no biggie.

Yup. I don't see a fit for Clarkson on the line with Kadri. Lug it in and cycle guys are not what Kadri's looking for: he wants someone who can finish, and Clarkson (or Kulemin) are not those kind of guys. I don't know if Frattin is either, but he has more offensive upside than Clarkson does.

I think Clarkson will do well on the 3rd line playing with Komarov and Kontiola though.

Tough sell to frattin's camp.

You gotta think that they're thinking that Toronto might give him a chance to prove himself again, resulting in a pay day of value

Even if he does prove him self again I don't see him getting a significant raise next year, I think they would want a couple years of consistency first.

I could be wrong but I believe we acquired him and gave him the 2 years at 800k he's currently contracted too.

If lupul wasn't around I'd like a clarkson kadri frattin line.

Let kadri and frattin cycle while clarkson stands in front of the net being a pain in the ass to opposition goalies.

Frattin can shoot, and kadri can pull defenses to himself, and open things up
