what was james reimer's PK stats last year?

this post was meant to inflame, you're cutting it close.

- Dozzer

see the following post.

I don't think Reimer's numbers were sustainable that year.

One of the many reasons the Leafs made the playoffs in that shortened season. Not many goalies have a SV% of over .900 in PK situations.

The notable player the Leafs dropped was Bolland... who played all of what 20 games? I don't think the team is dramatically better but they certainly didn't lose much. I'd rather them improve the bottom-6 as they have and now leave room to make a bigger trade if they so choose.

Having 5M in cap room to start the season will come in handy. I hope they keep that cap room and if this team surprises and does well, use it then.

It's all reimer a fault. He sucks.

If you average out Santorelli's numbers over a full season they are about the same as Raymond, so it is in theory a wash there.

Reimer wasn't the starter last year.
- Bigzby

i think it will give good evidence that the problem was team wide

if pecafan is right .. no skaters should even bother going out for PK duty.. rest up on the bench instead.. only the goalie matters.

no one player defines any aspect of this game.. its a team game all the way

Not angry, not doomsdayish....just common sense to me....I don't understand why everyone is so content with a team that just lost more than they gained....and we weren't good last season so I don't understand how that is an improvement....the only sense of optimism I can get out of it is Connor McDavid I guess

Mind you, last season, Reimer had numbers similar to those of Bernier.
- Pecafan Fan

They completely mishandled Reimer. They could have just made him the clear #2 but instead they decided to just throw him under the big stupid bus that is Leafs Nation.

Or,

They saw weaknesses either in his game, or personality, that made him a number 2 in their mind.

From the outside (at least, what we see in the media about him) he does seem to have a bit of an insecurity issue.... which obviously doesn't translate all too well on the ice.

we are adding 2 way players who have offence.

i like it, i admit.

i still think the team is better off without randy, and i know im not the only one.

So you think Bernier just can't function when down a man, or do you think it has more to do with the team giving up higher quality chances?

If by game 20 next season, the Leafs don't show signs of improvement, Carlyle will be gone.

i think shanny has set a mandate of how he expects the team to play.... which is good.. stop leaving it up to the coach.. if the coach is any good he will adjust to his instructions

He was the clear #2. How was he thrown under the bus?

Much was made about the comment after a game when Carlyle was asked how Reimer played and he said OK, just OK. That's not throwing him under the bus. Reimer had a lot of opportunities to take over the #1 job but failed to do so. When Bernier went down to injury it was all Reimer. Um, how did he do?

Either way, if they start off well but falter, RC's gone. I figure this year it's make the playoffs or get fired for RC.

Well that is what I am saying. But now instead of having him as a cheap back-up option who puts up decent numbers moving forward, he is telling them to go (frank) themselves.
