My biggest gripe with Franson is his selfishness at the blue line. So often, when he has zero business attempting it, he tries to throw it on net instead of dumping it deep to keep the play rolling, and it hits a defenders shin and bang! odd-man rush.

That, and he just can't handle the puck under pressure. So many clean passes to him wind up outside the blue line, with him flat footed, and a defender baring down on him.

Its Funny, before this past season started everyone was freaking out that he wasn't signed and how he was one of our best defenceman, and we needed him.
Oh the change of thought process that takes place over 82 games is quite hilarious. Franson is by no means a "great defenceman" but he can certainly be effective in a certain role especially on the power play, and is also pretty good at boxing players out, but please lets dump on him as clearly he's the problem not the coach who can't operate a toaster.

Tying into a contract with him removes Percy and Granberg from the picture coming up. I want to see more Gardiner and Rielly on that first PP. Imo
