Totally agree with this post.
On the same note though, what would have been your thoughts on if the Franson/Gorges trade went through? - Not_Stee
I'm glad it didn't go through, Franson should be traded for draft pick or prospect, no salary coming back on the roster. |

I think franson does too when it's all said and done. |

With all the Leafs off-season moves so far it will just guarantee that I will be watching a lot more darts on Sportsnet this year! Go Simon Whitlock! It takes a lot of guts to walk around in public with a hair do like that! |

i totally hear ya but some athletes are lazy. I played with a guy in junior who was by far our best player. Coach used to get on him about working out. He'd always respond:
"i've never seen a barbell score a goal coach".
Gardiner strikes me as this; super talented but not motivated. I like his game but it's all talent whereas Reilly puts in the effort on and off the ice you can tell. - clark_griswold
Im sure he's going to start. He lives with a gym rat that he plays defense with. Reilly will have the balls to call him a wussy soon |

I agree. Considering we gave Lebda for Franson any pick will be considered a win! |

The senators are losing money paying rent to the company that owns their rink.
...that's owned by Melnyk. |

What blows my mind is that Nonis said he'd still sign Robidas even if the trade went through.
(frank)ing cap space is like candy with the fat twit. |

Meh, Leafs have space.
Lets say we moved out Franson for Gorges, and did everything else that we did,
we'd have a serviceable partner for Phaneuf(better than Gunnar)- something that's going to be hard to come by now, and we'd still have ~9M to spend on resigning Gardiner, Holland, a back up goalie, and a spare body for the defense corps.
Plenty of space. |

To be fair, their scenario probably included signing Bolland and Kulemin. |

Okay fine, maybe he is a 3rd pairing guy. He would be a damn good third pairing guy. He's the kind of guy that get's hated on until he get's moved to another city and then he has success there and all of the "diehard" fans start asking what the hell happened. - MapleLeafsFTW
No he's not; he's poop. The kind of poop you move before other teams start smelling it the way you have. |

There was a game this year where he had 8-10 feet on a guy at the opposition blue blue and the guy had a breakaway by the time he hit centre ice.
Anyone remember the game franson did a 540/720 at the blue line and gave up a breakaway?

some players garner serious hate on here. Franson isn't perfect, but come on, top 5 in hits, great playoffs, as bad as he was defensively he still gets points. Last year a nightmare.
But do you honestly think he can never turn it around? i remember tons of ppl on here claiming he could replace Dion's minutes. That was hillarious, but i still think franson has tools. People on here want del zotto. Are you kidding me? Not much younger, all offense, terrible D and not a right shot/6'5/decent hitter.
Just my 2 cents |
