Hahah Yeah I am,
I was mainly joking, but the fact that you are negative fan, and hate young players like Franson without any apparent reason ( I am still waiting for the destruction of my post as it were ) are traits that are recurring problems with this franchise. - MapleLeafsFTW
1. He's slow
2. He gets caught standing still, gliding, and off guard.
3. He leads in hits not because he's a beast but because he never has the puck and is constantly chasing
4. He's an entitled douchebag.
5. His comparable cheese is Frumunda
6. He's a hippo
7. He has completely wasted his size. (God is pissed about this btw)
8. God is pissed
9. He's a vegan
10. Leo will kill him and we will lose Leo. |

Much more depression than being a Leaf fan.. Ya, right.. - bixll
It's one thing when your favorite team is making mistakes but at least is trying.
It's another thing to watch your favorite team being dismantled piece by piece because the owner doesn't have the money to operate in today's NHL. |

How are there people on here talking about how they like Franson? Isn't that an automatic ban? - markmark
Again, just another negative comment for no reason, everyone knows he had a poopty year defensively, but he had a pretty good year the year before that. I just don't get all the hate, was it his fault we missed the playoffs? |

Sheltered on the 3rd pairing with favourable matchups.
He can be my 6th D at 2 mil no complaints. |

Except for the cheese, you also just described Phaneuf more or less, I have to work now though so I'm out. Those are some valid points, but you also probably weren't bashing him last offseason. |

Without Franson it opens up for more time for Gardiner and Rielly, especially on the PP. |

Okay fine, maybe he is a 3rd pairing guy. He would be a damn good third pairing guy. He's the kind of guy that get's hated on until he get's moved to another city and then he has success there and all of the "diehard" fans start asking what the hell happened. |

That's fair, I am open to moving him if we get a decent return, not because I don't like him but because we have 3 OFD's that I like as well, and 4 is too many.
I just hate all the negativity and bashing of a young player who really doesn't deserve it. |

My biggest fear is the cap hit implications, he is expendable, giving puck movers Rielly and Gardiner more ice time and a chance for Granberg who is more defensive minded. |

He was completely exposed when he was put above 3rd pairing. The only thing the guy has going for him is an accurate shot. |

This. 100x this.
Not to mention, Franson screws up our PP and wastes Dion's salary. Dion is not and should not be the Markov of our PP, he's no QB. He's the Subban, standing on a T on the right side, stick up, waiting to go.
Franson takes this side, and his shot is worse than Dion's, and it forces Dion to play the middle man between Kes and him.
Rielly or Gards (prefer Rielly so Gards can run our PP2) should be this person, because all it requires is going back and forth between the two, and they have wheels to counter a Phil mishandle. |

Totally agree with this post.
On the same note though, what would have been your thoughts on if the Franson/Gorges trade went through? |
