i would argue it's just the opposite actually.....i find he's very overrated

doesn't put up a ton of points, gets dominated in possession, isn't anything special defensively, doesn't hit much.

the only thing he does is block lots of shots, but that's because there are so (frank)ing many taken against his teams when he's on the ice

Luke Schenn was a wreck, no confidence, slow, etc.

Paired with AMac, and his confidence soared, & he admitted he's the best parter he's had.

Edit: can't fault a guy for not being physical when he's not, but teamed with Luke it works.

I'm still confident, I think it's a matter of taking care of other areas first. IE free agency and trading.

That said it's not finalized.

So, as it stands, opening night down the middle

Turris
Zibanejad
Smith
Legwand

Looks good to me. Very close to 4 very solid lines.

What is missing?

i'm not saying he's a terrible player........he was just talked about as the prize D acquisition of the deadline, and extended to more than he's worth.

i would say that macdonald is, at best, an average #4

I prefer top 4 in the proper mix, philly fans seem to think he was worth only about $3 mill a year, honestly, if you watched Luke Schenn's game before & after they were paired, it was like night & day.

As for offense he's better than the numbers, the power play time was more to others like Timmonen & Streit taking the bulk of the time, (with a forward manning the other point).

He wanted 4 mil originally.

I guess I'm validated again

Now this allows the team to close the deal(s) they're working on.

So, Something involving dealing Zack smith then, I assume?

Legwand takes the checking role, Lazar takes 3LC, winger acquisition slots in top 9?

MacArthur-Turris-Ryan
Michalek-Zibby-Chiasson
New Guy-Lazar-Stone
Hoffman-Legwand-Condra

Neil, Greening in presser?

Legwand is not a 4th line center, (better than that)

edit: he only had 15 fewer points than Spezza in a checking role.

No room. My fear now is there may not be space for Lazar to start. Legwand with Lazar on a fourth line, killing penalties and earning minutes is a huge bonus in my thinking.

we had a team of less talented youngsters two years ago, and made it to the 2nd rd.....just saying.

i wouldn't be surprised if this team snuck in.....and i wouldn't be surprised if they finished near the bottom.

- sensarmy_11

people say Bernier's numbers from last season won't be repeatable, but it was Anderson's insanely high save% over a shortened season that got the Sens in.

Guys, don't get your hopes up for MacArthur this year.

We made that same mistake.

Yeah, but on the other hand we had an insanely low shooting percentage and lost our three best offensive players. Oh, and Anderson got injured too

Ottawa should roll the dice on Guch if he can be had for cheap. Maybe a new atmosphere could help him since he is only 27 he would fit into our youth first mind set.

WELL DONE BRYAN!

But to be honest it was a good addition of a TWF if he can stay healthy.

And on Detroits 4th line?
