I wouldn't say it gets under my skin, because as soon as I log off it's pretty much forgotten. I kill time here, and generally have a good time talking pucks. There's a few people that tend to suck others into arguments, and unfortunately, I've had it happen to me too often.

At that point, it goes from time killer to annoyance. That's all. It's easier for me to ignore those folks and converse with the others.

Sixers are exciting as heck. In the off-season, that is. Hoping the Rockets can get Bosh, James, Anothony or someone because the 76ers and Rockets would do a deal, Lin and the 2015 1st rd pick for nothing.

Hell, Joel Embiid's twitter feed has me more excited for the Sixers since the Iverson days.

He blocked LeBron on twitter...

I think we have that player now in Voracek. I think that line needs a player like Umberger or Simmonds to open up space for the other two.

Either that, or you move Voracek to line 2 with Coots/Schenn/Vinny and spread the dynamic offensive ability that only Jake and G posess across two times. I would prefer to do this, as I think it would significantly improve the team 5v5. We suck 5v5.

The bold is very true! However, I'm not trying to sell you Jake as an elite winger, because he's not. I referenced him being 20th amongst wingers to show you that if he's not elite, he's damn near close.

He's a scoring forward regardless, no? So if theres 6 scoring forwards per team and 30 teams in the league, that put's Jake 36/180. I'd say thats a pretty impressive feet to have a winger THAT good, considering we ALSO have without question one of the top 5 forwards in the entire league as well.

The other thing is that you have to look at the separation between G and Jake in those lists. Is the 24 point difference between then significant? Sure! Does closing the cap between our best winger and our best center make us that much better, especially when we have 5 (4 if one doesn't think Umberger can reach the mark) other 20 goal scorers? Nope.

Basically, I think the mindset you have is just greedy. How many teams can say they have a center of Giroux's caliber AND a winger like Voracek for him to play with? Not many. You basically want a guy like Taylor Hall or Patrick Marleau, a more shoot first winger who flirts with 75-80 points. I get it. I just don't think that's a priority at all.

You misunderstood the point I was trying to make. A team that has 2 cups in 3 years did it without a top 10 scorer, let alone a guy in the top 3 AND another guy in the top 40. Just trying to make the point that it's not all about offense and more about balancing the lines and being a hard team to play against.

You're being less of a jerk so now we're on the same page.

Scott Hartnell's job is to create space 5 on 5 like your asking. Hartnell can still do this as a front line player. Maybe not the ideal front line player we're looking for but he's still capable of this role. At the same time I agree Simmonds might be best suited right now at this role right now. I do find the idea of Schenn and Simmonds playing with with Giroux interesting. In fact I love the idea just so long Schenn is ready for it. If he isn't, you could try Voracek to the left side with Giroux and Simmonds but everything Voracek does comes from the right side.

You can call this greed but Forsberg had Gagne. Lindros had LeClair. There really is no stronger an example then this because Simmonds would only be the Knuble to a Forsberg and Gagne line.

We're only going to differ as long as you conpare the Flyers to the Kings. Each player on the Kings supports the puck well and they've discovered the balance they need to win on their defense. They also have that 1, 2 and maybe 3 punch we don't have should only of their players get hurt, even if they don't show up during the regular season. They don't have a Crosby, Getzlaf or Giroux. Just a solid foundation. Kopitar, Carter, Williams, Brown, Richards and Doughty are top notch. Then adding Gaborik put them over the top. They have a 1, 2, 3...7 punch. That's why they're a punch. Marian Gaborik, who they just added is a superstar.

My point is even the LA Kings, the Cup champions added the star you're against adding.

There are 20 top line wingers ahead of him. That put him in the bottom third of NHL top line wingers. Do you realize that?

Edit: I LOVE Voracek, but if they had a legitimate threat on that line he would put up WAYYYYY more points.

It actually puts him in the top third. 2 top line wingers per team. 30 teams. 60 wingers.

Jake Voracek does a lot of things well. Great puck control, speed, size but he's more a playmaking winger then a shooter or sniper. He'll pass up a shooting opportunity before shooting which can be a huge problem. If Voracek was a winger with good hands (which he is) and more a shooting mentality (which he doesn't) I'd have less of a problem of him being noticed as a front line player. This has been his biggest knock since coming here.

Goals:18/22/23 and that 22 was in 48 games. He's not a sniper, but he can surely score goals. The top line needs a left winger, V is fine there. Might be more helpful on the second line though.

My friend I couldn't be more with you but a 48 game season brings high expectations for the next 82 schedule. I want at least 30, which isn't a lot to ask for when he's served up such high expectations the season before.

Schenn g simmonds
Read vinny jake
Umby couts raffl
Bell laughton rinaldo

And see if that helps 5v5

So who is done with Rinaldo as a regular? I'd say if Ott comes on board. I definetly am. Ott, Simmonds, and schenn should provide enough grit. Rinaldo is just a spark plug no more no less.
