I don't get why some people think this team will be significantly worse because they lost iginla, when they will be adding Seidenberg and could drastically improve their bottom 6 with internal talent. If Smith, Erikkson and Soderberg along with the call-ups can pot a couple extra goals each the team will be fine. Its always been a score by committee team, why would that change now? Worst case Ontario, B's head into the deadline safely in the playoffs, maybe 2/3 in the division and make a play at a scorer if needed. They still have the undisputed best team D in the east. They can survive scoring a few less goals and not getting the pres trophy

You guys are worse bc you lose Iginla, and the Avs apparently according to the Lightning blogger are going to be worse than the Flames bc we gained Iggy over Stastny. Its crazy time in here

Little overkill guys?

Yes Bergeron is a great player, yes, he won the Selke, all I'm trying to say his speed isn't what it used to be and he can't be the guy to carry the offense. No need for the stat posting.

Regarding the contracts, I didn't say it would be easy. I still believe Eriksson although talented, could become a real albatross with the next hit to the head. Kelly has been another injury problem the past two seasons. Personally, Marchand may have brought something back. Nice player but costly decision maker.

Been a fan since 74...I like to wave the pom poms as much as the next fan but this team was knocked out in the second round in ugly fashion. Habs skated circles around them and for that to change some players are going to have to step well beyond the previous years stats.

Doesn't need all that speed, and he was never a speed deamon in the frast place, he's positionally great and moves just fone, justdont underastand your logic, thats all.

Eriksson is a shade over 4M for a Top 6 (proven) player, he was healthy after the Olympics and showed it, he looked great. I think he will have a nice year if healthy.

I was ok with moving Marchand, depending the return of course. Kelly is a bad contract, that's a given, has been since the day it wis signwed with a limited NMC... is what it is, every GM gets a gimme.

hard to say Habs skated circles around them, they lost in 7 games, it wasn't a blowout, but yes I agree they were the better team over 7 games and it showed... t'was why they won

Trade proposal

Winnepeg trades Kane and Trouba to Boston for Marchand , Boychuk and a first round pick.

Boston saves 1.8 million in cap , gets a goal scorer with speed and a young developing defenceman. Winnepeg gets rid of their headache and gets two NHL players that will contribute

No way the Jets would do it... i'd love it, but no way they do that... Especially Trouba

Nope... i don't think so. After how Dougie progressed this year, I believe he will be a much better Dman than Trouba

Big fan of Dougie too, just Kane has more value over Marchand, fair way to balance out the trade. But I wouldnt part with Dougie even it meant getting Kane

ya tempting for sure as I do think Trouba is a gem. I just cant see any way you move Dougie, esp with Chara being 37 and all!

I get a feeling Dougie has a lot heigher ceiling than Trouba, and Kane just doesnt have that elite forward feeling to him, hes really good but it would be tough to give off a gem of a Dman and not get that ppg super star forward back.

I welcome the move. Low risk high reward.

I enjoyed watching him down here and PHX and randomly met him in line at a pizza joint in Scottsdale once and he was surprised somebody recognized him. Typical friendly down to earth hockey guy. I'd love him in black and gold

As far as the habs series you gotta realize they got beat by Price. If not for his performance B's win in 5. No doubt. Price led the way and helped his whole team get into the bruins heads, leading to abysmal games 6 and 7. Games 1-5 for the most part was all Bruins. This is still a great team, and with a few youngsters who bring more natural skill, scoring and speed possibly ready to come up I honestly believe next years team could be even better.

Lucic Krejci Eriksson
Marchy Bergy Smith
Koko Soderberg Mueller??
Paille Spooner Fraser
Campbell

Chara Hamilton
Seids Boychuk
Krug Miller

If those youngsters are able to translate their game to the NHL, look out. Koko, Fraser and Spooner are scoring machines in the AHL. Also, I've heard Spooner was basically providences do it all guy. If he can win about about 50% of draws and kill penalties, he's a definite upgrade over Campbell. If they did go with a lineup like this, id like to see them sign a more physical player for the 3rd line. Don't want them to lose their identity.

Imagining that fourth line..........that speed would cause everyone on the other team trouble.

It would be magical.

And seeing providence play against the falcons in Springfield whenever I can, he has been in that everything role like there Bergy for the baby bs.

I don't understand why so many people beat up on him. When he has played for the bs he dosent seem out of place, but maybe everyone wants an instant offensive guy.
