shoulda signed both him and our AHL D of the year for 700k each.
- big_dion

if it were that easy, Brennan wants a shot at the NHL, he went were he has the most chance..you act like if you offer a certain amount that they automatically take it..dosnt really work like that

I don't think we're great, I think we'll be fighting for a playoff spot, not guaranteed a bottom-5 pick.

My main issue with what you're saying is that a) this team was 3rd in the east prior to losing their starting goalie, b)it's still very early in the offseason, and there's going to be more movement in the roster, c) outside of Gunnar*, not one of the players we lost played, d) every player we've brought in addresses some of the most glaring issues this team had last season.

- Feeling Glucky?

Losing their starting goalie had nothing to do with it.

It was the fact that the advanced stats were right all along and the previous 65 games, and all of last season were *luck*.

I don't even know why teams look for snipers and top goalies, when sh% and sv% are just luck.

dont get defensive.. all your posts for the last few days have been negative.

so yes, i am calling you out on it, because your assumptive bitterness is kinda dragging the rest of us down

- Dozzer

Negative as in the team is not good. Not negative as in name calling etc. Last year you were the one calling to tank; were you negative? I disagreed and thought we could keep slowly improving. I get that every season is a new one and flukes happen (random teams make the playoffs) but the odds of us being improved seems remote.

If a big trade or signing was made; OK. But frattin and komarov seem like saviors on here when to me they are good/solid 4th liners.

i think randy is fine. He won a cup and people say 'how can you not win with that team" - alot of teams don't win that are stacked.

I never called to tank last year, and go read any of my posts during the season ending collapse. I took it in stride and never once lost it like most. I've been watching the leafs too long to be surprised/dissapointed. Even during game 7 against Boston. Bitter is "i can't believe nonis did this" etc. Im just stating we seem to be looking to tank.

It is reaching the annoying stage and so many posters have left or don't want to come back, which is a shame because some were really good posters.

yeah.. i want to tank.. and i want to keep tanking.. cause frankly a phaneuf, kessel, lupul, bozak, clarkson core group isnt bringing a cup to toronto.

but i dont get angry about it.. i just want them to lose hard so it forces management's hands to make changes.

this summer is more of the same.. change up the role players.. leave the same core that continues to fail and expect a difference

so yeah.. the leafs are going to lose.. probably a lot. and i honestly could give a rats ass.. the worse they are the better at this point.

yeah, if you feel the team is going to tank, say it once and then let it go.

even i, who is not a big fan of the team's core group can see some positives.. all negative all the time is just unhealthy

Ok, lets put it this way:

Do a complete replay of last season, except in the last 20 games, Bernier's still in net, and playing like he did in the previous 3/4s of the season.

Do you think the Leafs miss the palyoffs? All they had to do was go .500 to get in.

I think if the core wasn't signed to such long deals they would have been moved. however, the core is young enough that a few years of high picks and we'll still have Dion, Phil, JVR, etc. We have some great pieces is my point, but this core will look even worse with the moves this summer.
