lets say Gardiner gets 2 and Holland gets 1.3, Leafs have about 10M to sign another d-man, another forward, and a backup goalie.

when other teams get better and you do nothing in this case bringing back the same exact roster then yes u get worse.

3rd line is typical pesky speed line, as it sounds like Kontiola is better than Santorelli defence wise.
Frattin was said to be possibly used on their 4th line by loiselle? on the radio I believe?
Which gives a more competitive 4th line than the face punchers.

So many Eastern teams got so much better. I guess that's been established as fact.

Also, a full season with Nyquist and a healthy Zetterberg and Datsyuk might make the Wings a little better.
