Still think

Jvr - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson
Komarov - Santorelli - Frattin
Marlie - Holland - Kontiola

- ILoveLamp

Might want to flip Frattin & Clarkson...and put Santorelli up on the 3rd with Holland or whomever else on the 4th line C spot.....other than that

Fixed.

Nothing to lose on these one year deals especially if some of the prospects are not quite ready.

Culture change!!! I figured it out.

The culture change Shanahan was talking about was to change Randy Carlyle's philosophy!

Gone are the days of top 6 bottom 6. (we've seen winning teams like LA have M Richards on the 4th line, and MTL was successful putting Briere there for goal support)

Gone are the days of bottom plugs who can't score and are "enforcers" or PK specialists

With the team being assembled, it looks like they're building the team to roll four lines. 3 offensive and one super pest line.

Guy plays hard and is gritty watched him last year with the Canucks quite a bit. How old is that?
- Yeti1181

Yeti you also have to remember that mike was playing in the top 6 getting some pp time
I know this as I had him for several weeks in the HBSL at the beginning of the season
He was rolling at 19 mpg
I'm not sure if he sees close to that amount of ice time this year unless he's up with kadri and lupul?

Cap remaining is at $13,847,500 including Orr, so pump it up to just under 15 mil. Orr is history.

True but even on the third line we can expect him to put up some decent points there for a third liner.

Yes and no.

Thoughts were this. Frattin will fit with Kadri better as Kadri and Lupul play a rush game.
Clarkson will fit better with Komarov and Holland because both can cycle the puck very well. Holland was great at working the boards when up with the Leafs, and Komarov and Clarkson were good at it as well. Those three would be a line of pests that can cycle and score.

Santorelli went to the 4th and might play wing as well.

I hope so. If brought in cheap he could be an excellent low risk, High Reward type of player. Needs his confedence to come back.

Decent 2nd line for the Leafs. See how they like playing with Clarkson.
Or was Clarkson the expected roster player.

That is for 4 RFA's left but maybe just two if Reimer and Franson is gone. Plus a goalie to add.
