Also, folks were talking about mentality and morale, etc and how that kind of stuff can affect players. I don't know how much stock I put in all that, but if Rielly is tweeting that Santo is a workhorse and was his training partner, that can only be good for the kid who is coming up on the dreaded "sophomore slump" possibility.

Santorelli vs. Holland vs. Kontiola for 3C - Kontiola and Santorelli have an edge due to wing flexibility. Holland likely will be 4C.

Phaneuf on RD or LD? - If RD, I see Rielly playing with him to evenly space out Gards. If LD, he'll be with Robidas.

Granberg up or new LD in? - Depending on Dion, do we bring up Gran for our 3rd pair, or bring in someone new for the LD to play with Polak (or an L shot Marlie?).

I think Frattin is more fringe nhl player than top 6 winger personally. I wonder if they're looking to make a trade for that spot or a d-man as you suggest. Isles have a glut a forward right now.

Excellent.

It's been smart, low risk moves. Not a lot of term handed out and basically throwing a lot of players at a wall and seeing who sticks.

I would still like a shake up in the core (Phaneuf/Bozak/Lupul/Kadri/JVR) but I have no clue what opportunities are out there so it's hard to poop on Nonis for not making trades that aren't available.
