I do understand, I just do not agree with this process....

If he would have manned up, turned around and dropped his mitten with Bert. None of this would have ever happened. Like all the other players do.. Man the (frank) up. Take what is coming to you.

- bixll

And there's merit to that. Funny enough I think that if he had and Bertuzzi had clocked him ending his career he'd probably have no case at all b/c he would have accepted the risk and made the choice to fight.

Can Santorelli win faceoffs and kill penalties?
- 1979AD

No, but he can win our hearts!

I actually dont know if he can win F/O's or Pk.

His job wasnt to score
- DougGilmour_93

his job was to contribute to one of the worst PK's in the league and one of the worst 4th lines in the NHL.

I think they're moving in the right direction. Filled in the defense where they could. Spent money properly at free agents (maybe a little extra on robidas but its a UFA).

2 1 million dollar deals today that will put up some points i believe

The way it looks now, we've got a lot of #3 centres.

JVR- Bozak - Kessel
Lupul-Kadri-Clarkson
Komorov - Holland - KHL guy
Ashton - Santorelli - Frattin

Jakey - Phanuef
Rielly - Robidas
??? - Polak.

#leafs moves have been smart so far. Santorelli plays w/energy & has skill, $1.5M for 1 year is a good price...better than $3M+ for Legwand.

Right on Mike...

Santorelli has more offense than McClement.
McClement is better defensively.

Take your pick.

BTW...do his numbers from the previous couple of years when he had 4 points in 34 games and 11 points in 60. Now who would you rather have?

- stormey

McClement pooped the bed a bit last year...not sorry to see him gone. He only signed for $1M which makes Santorelli 1.5 times the player McClement is...amirite?

Me neither - it was an honest question. I can only remember him with FLA, and he was a quick shifty little bugger.

No, they seem pretty intent on giving Holland a shot at 3C. So is Santorelli at 1.5 better than McClemment at 1?
- BetterCallSaul

Fair enough on Holland.

I'm guessing he plays the wing, gives them an experienced C to fill in when injuries occur or kadri gets suspended.

He's not that young.
He's not very big.
He sucked as a Jet....big time.

Had a pretty good season last year though. And had a 20 goal season with FLa I believe. He's pretty much a meh....as evidenced by the 1.5 a year.

- stormey

Isn't he just Mason Raymond ..or maybe even M.R.-lite
