Do you see any hypocrisy in yapping about lack of wins in regulation, then following it up by talking about a guys shootout skills? - prock

Played a big music festival in Cayuga. Got obliterated in the heat. Got a selfie with Julian from trailer park boys, got to watch Lehey come to my campsite and act out an entire skit with my good friend doing his amazing Bubbles impression. had lots of beer, met lots of great people, ate the best asiago dip of my life and just had an all around whopper of a time

My Sister went to school with him... Bubbles is from my home town, pretty decent hockey player as well.... Plays guitar pretty damn good too.

Yes. Exactly. He got 28 points on the Flames because he got a chance he wouldn't get here.
He's big, but soft as butter, and not exactly a fast mover. He'd be lost on the 4th line, and would be lucky to put up 10. - Feeling Glucky?
He'd have been a far better option than Holland, Smithson, Smith.... |

You know what, if you go back to the blogs at the time of his trade, I doubt you’d see much of anyone putting up a stink. And this is a fanbase that you’ll get some people putting up a stink about players like Rickard Wallin, or Simon Gamache, getting cut loose, because they apparently didn’t their chance. Almost everyone here would tell you, no one cared. He’s just not NHL caliber. |

No, seriously - Colborne was given every opportunity.
He failed. Miserably.
I remember going to a pre-season game just before they dumped him. He was playing against a pretty weak opposition, and I was watching his every move in the hopes that he would do something.
He coughed up the puck a few times in our own end. Other than that, he was invisible. He wasn't even trying to compete. |

None. I'd like shootouts to be gone. But for now they are in effect and having someone that scores in the shootout is a useful intangible. |

My mom once went on a double date with her friend and her friend's man. Mom's date? None other than the Great One, #99. A buddy of the other guy
Not a word of a lie. She ditched him a few hours later, because he was "too geeky" |

I cared. Bolland got hurt and we gave away a solid prospect and a 2nd rounder to bring in a stop gap.
He coulda sat as our 13th...
I cared so much man. |

well relying on shoot outs for wins is bad ..but since the leafs did.. having someone who was decent probably would help

Except the centers weren't Holland, Smithson, and Smith at the time. Bolland and McClement were our bottom-6 centers, and he couldn't hold a candle to either.
Holland was brought in after everyone was injured, and I'd take him over Colbourne any day.
Colbourne doesn't have a place in the NHL. He's a soft big man without the offense to succeed on an offensive line, or the defense/toughness to succeed on a checking line.
He was a boom or bust kind of prospect who didn't boom. |

Orr and FML were kept instead... do you think that was the right move?

Honestly Bruce, that's a crock of poop. No one (no fan at least) wants to see the Leafs lose in that manner. Some one mentioned that the Leafs will either do very well or completely (and collectively) fall on their face. I agree, this will be a year of extremes. That doesn't mean that I want them to consistently lose, what kind of poop is that? - A_Tree
i said leafs will either be incredible, or horrible this year, no inbetween and i believe that. |

Well, they did fine without him. So guess what, the only thing he was remotely good at, we apparently have more than enough of. |
