Only locks I have are Kessel, Rielly and Bernier. JVR is my next closest.
- iTOLDu

JVR is a lock to me, 2nd best forward on a VERY friendly contract.

Leafs projected 2014-15 lineup
(Estimated $6.5-million remaining in cap space after RFAs signed)

Van Riemsdyk – Bozak – Kessel
Lupul – Kadri – Frattin
Komarov – Kontiola – Clarkson
Abbott – Holland – Ashton

Phaneuf – Robidas
Gardiner – Franson
Rielly – Polak

Bernier
Reimer

those 2 are a duo, played together with success

- PinkSock

I think this a reasonably realistic roster a this point.

Cause for concern to me is the lack of experience in the forward group. NHL games played:

Komarov 42
Frattin 126
Kontiola 12
Holland 68
Abbott 1
Ashton 47

Hell, even kadri will be asked to player a bigger role.

I don't expect everyone of these guys will be successful.

He disappeared after the Luongo deal went down and the . I would have liked to have heard his expectations on the Kesler trade too.

I'd keep JVR too unless for a blockbuster, his value is already great + that contract

Ridiculously talented.

Annoyingly talented. If only he moved to Canada at age 3.

He might not get a chance anywhere else either. He might be stuck in the AHL. He might only get a chance due to injuries. Did the Leafs make him an offer?
- TML60

Not that I know of.

Yeah that contract is one of the best in hockey. Johnny T's is numero uno by a long shot tho.

because he was played where he should be played.. against bottom pairing lines

asking him to stop top 6 talent was the fault of carlyle, not the player

Nonis is making it really difficult to be a Leafs fan... He trades Liles for Gleason, then buys out Gleason making him 2/3 of his salary to not play.. now Gleason goes back to the Canes who are basically just topping up his salary to what he would have made anyways. So in the end the Leafs gave Liles to the canes PLUS they are paying 2/3 of the salary for another one of there defense...

wrong again. He was traded because they would have lost him on waivers.

I'm not a fan of Joe at all but he also won a ton of shoot out games for Calgary. They benefited enormously from OT/SO wins.

Joe would be better than the options the Leafs have right now in the bottom 6.

- Iggysbff

They would have lost him on waivers because he wasn't good enough to stick.

Assuming Clarkson is in the top-6 this year, and Holland is re-signed, our bottom-6 currently looks something like this:

Frattin-Holland-Komarov
???-???-Orr
Options for the vacant spots are Leivo, Ashton, Broll, Devane, Carrick, and the new guy.

Still don't see any room for Colbourne.

It feels better to admit they have been a bad team.. it really does. Making excuse after excuse might work for you... and I see you are good at it.
