My parents are not very inclined to the American culture. They speak a good English compared to the average Québécois but watch most of their TV/movies in French. They watch American movies, but don't really know about American shows. Most of my knowledge about American culture came from my own discoveries over the interwebs. I did stumble on an episode of Generation Kill on Super Écran (the Québec version of The Movie Network) once, and I loved it. I eventually bought the series.

A few years ago a guy I play video games with convinced me of the awesomeness of Netflix and I never looked back. I also bought a bunch of TV show series, the ones that are not offered on the said streaming website.

Not really Pete. I hate that Yerman Team. They win too often for my liking

I don't mind the country, actually I admire it's history after the Berlin Wall fell. One of the better places to live in, great school system, amazing economy, they're even open-minded about green energy.

I just don't like a few of their National team players, notably Neuer, Muller ((frank)ing diver, I know, you could say about half of the players...). I also do not like Schweinsteiger (sp?), because he's decimating Barcelona everytime he plays against them

On dad's side? His grandpa emigrated from Germany to the US, my grandpa was actually born in South Dakota.

On moms side? It's pretty muddy. Her family never really talked about their roots.

She claims her parents (my other grandpa, and was dead many years before I was born) were Germans that emigrated from Germany also.

Honestly I believe they were Jews that fled Germany (sorry Howard).

Their last name ends in 'man'...
