Moore, who was originally suing Bertuzzi and the Vancouver Canucks for $38 million in damages, increased his demand to $68 million at a hearing on Wednesday. |

the judge will throw the case out for the reason that Steve Moore sucked balls at hockey anyway. |

I hate seeing Gorges go, but in a cap world players have to keep in mind that their salaries can determine if:
A-the team can surround you with quality players
B-are you worth the cap hit or can you be replaced by someone for less.
Unfortunately Gorges falls into B and while it isn't much, the cap was LOWER when he signed so he was an even larger percentage back then. If he really wanted to stay here he should have thought of that and gotten a cap friendly contract. Cap space is a HUGE consideration when teams manage their rosters. Hence why Gorges was moved instead of a Moen-type contract. |

I don't get the vision of the leafs though..
They only made they playoffs once in a decade. Yet all they could do was acquire a 37yo who broke his leg twice last season and now a KHL Fin who seems to be in response to the Cakes signing.... |

Exactly, something had to give and I'm sure when looking at how to move forward cap savings came into play. |
