a long while back tim told me to "get a life" in one his posts after i replied with something quite innocuous. i just gave it back to him. i amused myself, and that's all that really matters.

Shea Webber bobblehead night in Nash when Philly comes to town.

The article didn't even mention that the James Neal night is against Pittsburgh

Edit: It's also very clear that they're leaving one of the last 2 bobble head nights for Vinny

Something about Giroux and shame on him and whatnot... I just skimmed the article and made insinuations about Tim being into legs more than asses... and a few other butt puns.

So Akeson's surprisingly low $575K cap hit just happens to mean that if the Flyers add Hagg and Straka to their roster, they would be almost exactly the amount of Pronger's cap hit over the cap ceiling. Those two players are on there just because they have the highest cap hits and are waiver exempt. As soon as the season officially starts they can be demoted to the AHL and the Flyers can call up Laughton.

The whole thing was Tim thrashing G for conduct unbecoming of a leader/Captain. It was the same poop as dry island.

At the end though, he pretty much said:

"Hextall needs to talk to the captain. No more immaturity. No more nonsense.

Oh, and next year, he stays in Philly, and not Ottawa."

So he basically came out and said Giroux shouldn't be allowed to go home anymore, but was a huge douche like normal about it.

I personally couldn't care less, and I don't feel the organization or Giroux owes the media or anyone else an explanation. It happened.. it is what it is.. and it's between G and the front office. Going to the media and the world only makes it a bigger deal than it is. All they have to say is "we talked to him.. it's internal.. we're past it".

Sorry for coming in late on this, but I don't understand people being upset with the media over this. Part of the deal when agreeing to be the captain of an NHL team and signing a huge contract is that you become a public figure. It's just the way it is. Maybe it sucks. Maybe it's unfair. But everyone knows it's the reality of the situation and most of us would take the tradeoff for $8 mil/year. Claude is free to act like a dope in public. The cops can arrest him if he crosses the line and the media is justified in reporting it and investigating the incident. I'm sure it was a hilarious scene and I'm sure it was just harmless drunken knucklehead behavior, but Claude's a grown man, he knows the ramifications of behaving like this in public. I don't feel bad for him at all. I don't think the media response is unfounded at all. In the grand scene of things, what he did is not a big deal...but, because of who he is it IS news. As the song goes..."Don't do the crime if you can't do the crime"

Eh... I think the Organization should give him a smack upside the head just because hes a Captain and premier player in the NHL... he should attempt to not have a screw up every offseason. Not really asking too much.

But…

Do you think he needs to "have a sit down" with the Flyers organization, and stay in Philadelphia during future off seasons to stay out of trouble? Tim does

Reporting it and investigating it, yes. Blowing it completly out of proportion and dramatizing it, no. That's what is being missed. And that's what was done with a few write ups. What Bill said in his blog was about all that needed to be said. And then moving on.

What he did was stupid, but I think he was just having some fun with an officer. I think most of us are upset with Tim because he will, inevitably, tie in their next losing streak with the "immaturity of their captain"

I find it odd that this Pronger/Flyer cap discussion is in depth here today somewhat, and then Capgeek's twitter feed posted a couple posts about the "Option 1 and Option 2" scenarious for Pronger about 20-30 minutes ago.

Yeah, looks like he's not giving then any excuses to keep him off the roster.

Tripled his AHL salary though, so the kid's going to be alright either way.

If during that streak he has a penalty for holding or a cross check, either around the opposing player's posterior... I think Tim's a bit justified in writing about his, AHEM, i mean Giroux's closet butt fetish.

His defense is horrible right now. I would take a chance on him, but you'd need to give him sheltered minutes at first. I don't think the Flyers have the top talent to ask certain guys to play 23-25 minutes each night. They need to spread the minutes out. This current roster will probably see all 6 defenseman around 20 mins
