It was actually interesting to hear him saying that they pretty much knew in October that Moulson's time on the Island was done. I guess it makes the Vanek trade look a little less terrible.

I can understand Garth not wanting to push the trade talk. The hosts made sure to ask about fan frustrations 100 times. Would have been nice for the hosts to ask about more moves besides Vanek last year.

The only thing about the interview that bothered me was Snow's answer regarding the Vanek Trade.

Snow said, What did we give up for Vanek? An UFA! Moulson was never going to resign here.

He never mentioned the 2015 1st rd pick that we gave Buffalo. Gave the impression that he trade was Moulson for Vanek. Nothing more.


Then at the end of the interview he says the only reason we were able to move up in the draft to get "the most talented player in the draft" was because of the 2nd rd pick we received from Montreal in the Vanek trade!

Aside from that it was pretty much generic.

This is an organization that doesn't even tell the media about what they pay somebody, they make his agent and/or the league do it, which makes them exactly....ONE, as far as I know of, in all major league sports. Garth Snow isn't going to tell them sh*t about anything that he's doing. He'll be running for governor when he gets fired. He talks a whole lot and doesn't say anything.

Just you saying that it is Garths plan. I mean it only took him 8 years of the rebuild that we were promised in 5 and not only that but depending on how the team performs with the same crap coach it could be year 9 of the rebuild

The hosts also never mentioned the #1 pick. It did seem like just a Vankek for Moulson deal.

How could anyone not think that? Counting Halak, these are the first three expensive free agents they've signed since Streit, unless you want to count Nabokov, who was technically still here when he signed. Snow hasn't made a trade of anything other than a draft pick or a pending UFA ever, other than the crap prospects he traded for Ryan Smyth a long time ago, right at the time he decided to rebuild. All he has done is draft players and take on reclamation projects to buy time. If that's not "rebuilding through the draft", I don't know how one might define that.
