i like frattin's drive, but come on he had what 7 goals for us and couldn't make a dent on LA or CBJ yet he's going to help?
Komarov better be 10x the pest and 5 x the scorer he was with us last time or the $3 mil contract (which some have said isn't bad) is going to look terrible.
Polak / Roibidas is a wash.
Our Centres went from decent to ....i don't even know with Bozak and kadri now and no bolland and mcclemant.
Im not raymond or kuli fans but i'll take both over frattin / komarov - reason is frattin / komarov are 3rd liners at absolute best, most likely 4th liners. Kulie and raymond can play 2nd if needed, but are solid 3rd line guys.
Our actual D core is better, but overall team defense can't be called better with no mcclemant and Bolland. - clark_griswold
We didn't really have a Bolland for most of last season, so his loss isn't going to hurt us... that's why Holland was brought in.
McClemment will be missed, but he wasn't used properly last season. Played waaayyy too many minutes with Bolland out. |

The biggest improvement in Petri Kontiola's game is said to be his skating. That limited him during his first crack at the NHL. #leafs - Fruitcakenipple

Might as well bring him in for 4th line and see what he can do. Komarov Jr. |

I wonder if this signing means the Leafs are going back to 3 attacking lines and a more defensive 4th?
God I hope so. |

just knowing you had bolland coming back is a different mindset than not having him. And what replaces any of these guys? it's early...but anyone close to replacing them is gone. ALso, trade window seems to have passed unless you want to move a JVR, which i don't. |

Boom. 100%.
When we have a line-up people complain we can't draft, develop and play youngsters form the Marlies. Now people are all why can't we re-sign Kuli, McClement, why need Legwand, Boyle, Ott etc. - walshyleafsfan
RIght on, give the young guys a chance to prove themselves in the bottom 2 lines and let them develop...
the Culture change however, should happen on the top 2 lines... |

A signing like this begins long before they even starting writing that contract offer to Legs.
Also, I'd bet anyone that due to decline and/or injury, Grabbo never hits 50 points again. I'd be shocked if Kulemin ever gets over 20 goals again as well. - mcleafs
35 points in 58 games last year
on route for a 50+ on capitals with ward and chimera/brouwer with a bit of time on PP with ovi cause they clicked.
but your right, how could he ever do that on isles playing more minutes and more PP time with his best friend.
i bet he hits 55-60 next season. |

or just be fine with the fact we are going to stink and draft high. I never wanted to tank last year when i know some did, but now we're clearly going that way. Time to accept it. - clark_griswold
No worries, I'd take Connor McDavid then |
