We're becoming the Edmonton of the East. - gravyface
seriously, why would you want to sign in Toronto?
The "winning tradition" ended before some guys FATHERS were born.
Now it is a poopty team, an absolute joke of a franchise with an embarassing history, playing in a place with horrible taxes, nasty winters, and media crawling up your ass day and night.
... Oh and you get to come play with Randy Carlyle as your coach and Dion Phaneuf as your captain. Your star player has the personality of a roll of tape. |

yeah that was exactly what I was saying on the weekend... I am already starting to see that the Phaneuf contract is not that bad.
He was a Legit #1 D until out starting goalie went down and the entire team, without exception, poop the bed.
Is he Subban, or Doughty, or Pietrangelo or Karlsson ... obviously not, but if you were signing any of these guys today, you would be paying a significantly more than 7. - Aetherial
FYI
Phaneuf was 33rd in TOI last year and 46th in scoring, but 5th in salary. |

Honestly, whenever I see him play, he looks like a pretty good player. I would not be disappointed to see him on the Leafs - Aetherial
Consistency.
He can be amazing for 3-4 games, then completely disappear for the next 10.
That's my issue with him. |

Team has no end-game, no vision, no direction right now. And because of that, they're a bubble team, and bubble teams lose players for nothing instead of stockpiling picks and rebuilding properly. |

Relax man, long way to go. We still only have 14 or 15 players signed and more moves to make.. It is a long summer. - bixll
and no cap room do make a really *good* move ...
Unless you dump Dion and/or Lupul, and are you getting something better in return?
I can't think of anything within the realm of possibility that makes this team better.
The only hope I can see is that Kadri, Gardiner, Rielly all improve and Lupul and Bernier stay healthy. Then they might be in the mix for 8th ... or for the 11th overall pick.
