I'm going to pretend we just signed Clarkson to a six year deal. Makes me less upset.

i've never been a pessimist on here, im just saying we're a worse team than last year. I dig frattin's compete level and he does hit. Point is someone mentioned sticking up for your teammates - i have never seen fratting do that any more than kule (which is never).

I hate raymond, but he did chip in offensively (which we now lack any sort of scoring depth outside top line and lupul and kadri).

I've already gone over our D. Im not saying Nonis could have peformed a miracle, and our hands were somewhat tied. Just saying we are worse than last year. Could be a good thing in the long run.

Anything looks poopty when you put Clarkson next to it.

I'm happy with it. Does Clarkson's job at a much cheaper rate. And will be killing penalties. 2.95M really won't kill us.

A quick googling reveals that any income over $400,000-$450,000 (depending on marital status) will have you writing a cheque to the feds for 39.6% if you live in the US.

I'm not an accountant, so if this is wrong, feel free to correct me.

Bottom line is we are all but guaranteed a lottery pick. There were no good FAs out there, but the lack of trades ensures bottom 5 for sure. Even with the east and our division getting worse, its the same central core with less depth (didnt think it possible). Im not a pessimist, just a realist.

Agreed. and you know what? I don't mind it. If Shanahan wants a rebuild, then great. Let's do it right. Go after the top 2 players in a upcoming deep draft. But just don't half-ass it like we've done in the past or rush it. I think fans accept a rebuild knowing it's going to be done properly and we're feeding in top talent - i.e. rielly, now nylander, next year McDavid or the other guy ...
