LOL ... 8th isn't a bubble team...
- Fruitcakenipple

Actually it is. Bubble teams are teams that barely make it, or barely miss it.

Well if they can be successful for the first 65 games like last season. And then decide to win 5 of their remaining 17 games (about 28%), they can make the playoffs.

Connor McDavid is projected as a potential franchise-altering player at the top of the 2015 draft.
The 2015 NHL draft class contains four elite prospects, although there is a clear separation between Connor McDavid and the next three players. The draft is being promoted as a "superdraft" comparable to 2003, but I think that's a stretch at this point. There are still plenty of question marks on plenty of prospects, as talented as they may be, which is why projecting a draft's strength when most of the players are 16 years old is extremely difficult.

For now, the draft class generally looks strong, mostly due to a very strong top end, but we'll have to see how these guys progress over the next six to eight months before I declare the class as anything more than that.

Looks like the Leafs are all in on the Connor McDavid sweepstakes. So we signed none of our UFA's, picked up a 37 year old journeyman defenseman, to tutor Rielly and Gardiner and we didn't change any of the core pieces. We kept Carlyle and didn't move up in last weekends draft. That sure sends a signal to the Leafs fan base that we're going to compete for the playoffs.

Looking at teams that finished behind us, last year, I see us weaker and them stronger. Outside of Ottawa, all of those teams strengthened themselves. So our top 4 centres are:

1. Bozak

2. Kadri

3. Nobody

4. Nobody

Our backup goalie is a disgruntled James Reimer and we have no assistant coaches......brilliant moves Shanahan! I love it! Maybe now we can finally draft a franchise centre and start actually building a core of young talent.

Not being rude but we need to roll 4 "good" lines. He looked good playing 4 mins a night he won't playing 10-12.

for a 4th liner he chipped in 4g 5 a in 28 games. not bad for 10 mins a night. not like we should be expecting more production from 4th liners then that as well
