Of course they wouldn't. They wouldn't accept Leddy & Sharp for Lazar

far from a lock . Wouldnt be shocked if they miss the dance even with gorges
- clark_griswold

No definitely not a lock with or without Georges/Gionta, but I (granted possibly biased), think Mtl has better chances on paper then Detroit (of course Babcock will have something to say about that). Tampa improved (Droin joining tampa scares me) their defense and I think they're a lock.

To me montreal will fight for 3rd in Atlantic with Detroit or wrestle for a wildcard with the Leafs.

Ps I don't think Rangers will be any better next year and making the playoffs will be a fight for them[/img]

McDavid would help console them for the consecutive losses of Alfredsson, Spezza, and Bobby Ryan for nothing.

I wouldn't count Frattin out of the top 6 altogether.

Injuries, spreading out of scoring on lines, Clarkson pooping the bed again, etc.

He may see some time there.

I'm not saying you should be happy about it.

Just saying you should be prepared for it.

- Atomic Wedgie

Oh I fully expect it on the leafs.
On a quality playoff team(or Columbus) he's not a top 6.
But the leafs always play their players above where they should be.

I don't think the leafs will be wrestling for the wildcard spot, that being said the wild card spot in the east does look like it will be interesting. But who knows what can happen with those 3 point games. Its a crap shoot.

guess we are keeping Reimer...
- MCharisma91

Not the worst thing to happen. I say keep him for a couple months and see if he can up his trade value with some decent play. Couple months in someones goalie will go down or struggle and people will be looking for some support.

Reimer to the rescue.

he barely played in Columbus because they had a winning chemistry that worked, and it got them in the playoffs. They didn't need him. LA is LA , and they obviously didn't see a fit.

When Frattin was on the Leafs he shined, because he got the chance he deserved. You will NEVER know what you have in a player without opportunity, especially with Frattin, when he had potential before he got traded. Again, Frattin had that chemistry with Kadri & Lupul and that helped not only Matt to succeed, but it helped the Leafs as well.

Meh. If you're the Isles, you have to do "whatever it takes".

$2.8 cap hit. Under 10 goals. I hope to see your understanding the next time the Leafs sign a dumb contract like that.

The Islanders aren't the Toronto Maple Leafs.

UFAs avoid Long Island like the plague.

Edit: it's what I meant by "whatever it takes". The isles have no choice but to massively overpay.
