So, being a realist, you think that a team that missed the playoffs because of poor defensive play, lack of passion, and losing their #1 goalie to injury, that has now improved their defense, and added guys who play with lots of energy, is going to be worse than they where last year(3rd best in the east prior to losing Bernier)- to the point where they are guaranteed a lottery pick.

How did we improve the defense? We bought out gleason which saved 3 mil. Signed a hobbled 37 year old robidas for..... 3 mil. I have seen robidas play many times and he is a vet presence but not the be all end all. Then traded gunnar for polak. I'd say that's a wash. I'm not the biggest fan of raymond, but losing him, bolland (even though he missed most of last year) and kule and adding.....frattin and komarov makes us better?

i guess.

komarov is a good 3/4th liner - 3 mil isnt goona make or break this team.

reilly and gardiner SHOULD be better.

kadri no longer in sophmore slump (should technically help lupul too)
clarkson really cant be worse than last season.

basically the way i see it, the team is a bit better; but the problem is we still have the same idiotic coach.

frattin is a solid body, he can take and lay a hit.

Why are people blubbering about the loss of Raymond?

He had an inexplicable hot start to the season.

He scored 10 goals from the start of December until the end of the season.

And other than putting in a few goals, he contributed absolutely nothing to the team.

I realize that Frattin is not the answer to the Leafs' cup drought, but I actually like the trade.

He showed he could play in the NHL.

I don't think D'Amigo will ever be a regular NHLer.
