Exactly, pinning down exact rates is difficult because individual circumstances, though safe to say he'll be paying lower taxes as a resident of Florida compared to Ontario.

I wouldn't just focus on income tax with overall cost of living being far lower in the Florida compared to the GTA including housing, sales tax, vehicles and household items.

He could probably justify the move financially based solely on the cost of real estate, but based on the whole package it's a significant win for him financially.

good question, who decides where he plays? What would be better for his development, playing a smaller role and less games ( I think) against men on big ice, or getting a bigger role / more ice against "peers" on NA ice?
