Carlyle hated him and he was pushed to #3 centre.
- RogerRoeper

Yeah I know....same reason I can see Kadri not lasting. Hence, I think we should parlay him into Patrick Sharp now if we can.

Noodles also specifically asked about the specific toughness on the 4th line, and that's when Nonis essentially said we can't just have that. We have it coming up in the Marlies (referenced Broll) but there needs to be more than just toughness.

Basically Orr is going to scratched or buried for most of the season.

The leafs are definitely tanking this season.

Bring back Komorov. Not a bad move. Not significant though.

Gunnarson for Polak won't change anything drastic.

We know what we got with Frattin. Nothing to rave about.

Robidas is a 37 year old coming off a broken leg on a three year contract when the leafs are no where near a contender yet. Terrible signing.

So in all the leafs pretty much did nothing after proclaiming big changes were coming.
Our top two lines remain unchanged with no number 1 center and we still don't have a top pairing D to play with Dion.

So far this is not a very good off season and leaf fans can expect much of the same in terms of results for next season. So the only explanation I can come up with is we're tanking and that big Culture Change management ranted about is still nowhere to be seen.

amazing really. Guy that no other GM wants yet he is just passed over (the GMs don't know what they are doing). The hockeybuzz crowd is right on grabo.

I think its more to do with our GM/Coach who continually talk about compete ... and they misused and bought out a strong "compete" player who fought and possessed the puck..

so the 2nd year in a row they are fixing the compete

Go leafs!

Can't forget, last 2 gm's to sign Grabovski were fired less than 12 months after signing him.

Maybe I got the ole Leaf blinders on....but I liked him. I think he had what it takes to be part of a championship team....if used correctly. He was a beast against Boston.

Beast as in he was on the ice for most of the goals against? He is gone and thankfully won't be back.

Grabo is still getting paid by the leafs... he can sit and wait again for a good deal.
whats the rush..the leafs are paying him to play against them

and for the record.. I think some guys on the internet could run and NHL team better than Nonis.

we're not even tanking, that's why im baffled. if you are tanking you don't sign komarov for 3 mil (that eats up cap space for when you are good). Also, you don't sign robidas for 3 years at $3 - you sign him for 1 at big $ so you can move him at the deadline. You also move Dion for anything to get worse (while you can - at the draft).

Big changes mean "let's get some guys from the past" apparently. I was optimistic with the $3 mil cleared up from the gleason buyout; instead we go status quo with Robidas (who is pretty similar to Gleason).

I have no idea what Nonis is trying to do and doubt he does. If you don't fire the coach, you change the roster. He did neither other than tinker.
