If the money is right, the Flyers have the space to take a chance with someone like that for a one year deal.

i think thats how you have to win at free agency these days. give him 1 year for say 1.2 mil or something. hope he catches fire and pots 20. then he moves on. a la raymond this past year.

okay. in all seriousness. you have a 1.5 million dollar deal on the table. seto on one end and heatley on the other. which way do you push the pen?

- stayinthefnnet

I would go Seto. Younger and faster.

I thought the Talbot contract from day one was fine. Now it's a real bargain.
Very useful player. Good PK player, can chip in a goal every once in a while. Every good team needs a player like Talbot.

- PLindbergh31

I think he's overpaid and was happy to get rid of that contract. That's no loss.

The funny thing is they would instantly be their top two centers.

Seriously? you think Max Talbot is overpaid at 1.75M? or am I like totally misunderstanding this?

I disagree. Especially when you have poopbags like Rinaldo and Rosehill on the roster.

The 4th line was a complete cluster(frank) outside of Hall.

You're comparing apples and oranges. Talbot was in a different role then either Rinaldo or Rosehill was. Talbot was playing a lot more minutes and playing on the PK. Rinaldo and Rosehill have zero to do with why the Flyers made that trade.

Got to give Hextall some time. His predecessor left a pile of poop in his lap.

When they signed that deal, I thought it was a total steal. That first year was excellent, the lockout year he was hurt alot, and last year he was dealt when pretty much everyone was still in a scoring funk, if I remember right.

Where do you think the Flyers finish, last in the Division and out of the playoffs this upcoming season?

And Talbot was showing signs of decline and his PK game and defensive game were in serious funks. And the emergence of Raffl made Talbot available to try and get some more offense.

Unless Couts and Schenn make some significant strides, I think they'll be fighting for a spot. I think it will be close

Slow as balls, terrible on the dot, not very physical. And there's what 3 or 4 more years on that deal?

I see them as a solid playoff team. Barring any major injuries of course.

Leave Lecavalier out of this. We're talking about Talbot.

If this is the team we are looking at....they are right on the bubble. Just like I thought last year had em pegged as a 5-8 seed.

If you take away the start the Flyers had last year, they were in easily. I think Schenn, Couturier, and Raffl are all going to be better. And they have MacDonald for the full year.
