and deservedly so. another one. goon for most of his career. at least neal could pot some.

god damn it. only a mil, but jesus.

aaaaand i just saw what the islanders have been up to.

Apparently, Tocchet has a very good relationship with him. Downie has some skill and is capable of playing in the top 6. He had significant hearing/concussion issues last season.

He can really help your team IF he can somewhat control himself. He was a discipline disaster last year though

Maybe not but it's not like Kane is around the corner from retirement.

No I would take him but not sure how we could get him Winnipeg seems like hard partner to trade with

I wish the NHL had a poopy organization like the Houston Astros and had their accounts hacked, so we could see what GMs really talked about.

I know. I was hoping for Kulemin as a 3rd liner. Isles gave him 1st/2nd line money.

Downie has top 6 potential if his head is right (literally and figuratively). It's a decent value buy. I think Setoguchi could be another value buy. He does score goals and would add speed to a Flyers team without much.

Wonder if we could dump Grossman for a decent forward with 1-2 years left.

Matt Cullen comes to mind, but we'd then need to dump Vinny clean.

- mochoson

They can sign a player for a little less then that, without dumping anyone.

I wouldn't be surprised to the see the Flyers sign a 2nd tier free agent forward next.

With all the cap space burning a hole in their pockets, what's this second tier bullpoop?

If I'm a Nashville fan I'd be pissed you got one of the best dman in the league and you get jokinen to play with Neal

That was a good trade. McGinn is a tweener, but this coaching staff just never took a liking to him. Flyers need picks next year. If they can snag a 2nd rounder, they'll be back whole again.

I still think theyll get Vinny. Their center depth sucks mightily.

They had a deal for Spezza, he just vetoed it because he didn't want to be in Nashville.

Very difficult to recruit FA talent there.

its a shame, because they have some really good pieces. if spezza and hemsky both decide to take their act there, they are a playoff team. if not, damn close.

I dont really dislike anything Hexy has done other than the Hartnell trade. I'm willing to wait and see on that one though.

Flyers are finally playing FA the way you should. If you have the money to go after the big fish like Ehrhoff, then do it, but if not, then wait things out for the bargains.
