Complains about stupid contracts and mediocrity.
Loves Lupul and his broken body and his 5.2 million cap hit.... - jbold

Pair him with kessel, he gets 60-70pts.healthy full season.... so irrelevant - DougGilmour_93
but JVR plays with Kessel, and Lupul's never healthy.
So... irrelevant. |

If he struggles it's because fans put too much pressure on him and analyze his every move. |

McClement doesnt play with the same grit Komarov does.
Komo does whatever it takes to win. Blocks shots, hits eveyrthing. - jbold
Great. He's still not worth anywhere close to 3 mil over 4 years. Dom Moore, who is a very similar player to Komarov just got a 2 year 3 mil contract. Sure he probably took a bit of a discount to stay with the Rangers, but it still shows that Komarov is a big over-payment for the game he plays. |

Bolland is a much better player than Komorov, and he's getting paid like it. Bolland is a proven playoff performer also. Komarov has played a grand total of 42 games in the NHL and that was two years ago. There isn't much of a comparison. - blahman20
So both have played 42 games in the last two years. |

Phaneuf +3
I'd rather Niskanen on the ice up by a goal.. Or down by a goal... Or tied. Anytime really. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Phaneuf played on a malkin Crosby PP and not play against the other teams best lines id bet he's at least +33 |

You guys were all laughing at how much of an overpayment they were, but now you're all singing a different tune with the same amount tied up in mediocre talent. - ThePresident

Nobody said Boyle was an overpayment. Pretty unanimously realized he left money on the table to sign with NYR.
Stastny is an overpayment, that's horrid for him. And Nonis would have had to beat that by at leaf $1 m per to get up to even think about it.
Robidas is not overpaid, and Boyle was clearly never an option. Robidas next best option. Didn't want erhoff |

Which is true but 5.5 for a guy to play 3rd line minutes is a waste. Komarov does everything else and costs is almost half as much.
Plus considering to keep McClement we would have paid him 2M or so Komarov offers more to the Leafs. |

There's a lot of people on here that believe plus/minus don't mean anything in hockey.......... so you may get a lot of bewilderment for that statement |

Matta was a rookie no?
Ya I know he's on a better team, but he doesn't turn the puck over as often as Dion does. And he doesn't seem to get as tired as Phaneuf does. |

He'll struggle somewhat. Pretty much every player does. But as you say if fans put too much pressure on him and analyze his every move it may get to him. Thank God, Leafs nation and the GTA media are not known for that. |
