But seriously, no matter what team you are a fan of, free agency hurts your team more often than not (unless maybe going after 3rd/4th liners). Can't get excited for that.

I would love to see a Paquette or B.boyle type player if Komarov doesn't come back.

Moulson is actually the perfect replacement for Lupul if he's shipped off when I think about it.

Moulson - Kadri - Clarkson looks to be solid on paper.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Here's hoping Nonis' fax machine skills are better than Randy's toast making ability.

Anyone think Nonis will be nothing more than a puppet of Shanny's this year, or will Nonis get just enough rope to hang himself?

Im 50/50 on Carlyle. He has a ring, and led us to the playoffs, but I worry about the way he handles the young guys (Kadri,Gardiner, soon to be Nylander)
- GardinerExpress

His stats as a coach show he's not very good, Anaheim's puck possession number's took a dive each year he was with them until he was let go and Bruce was brought in, instant change to their possession at the time Carlyle was let go Anaheim was blaming the players for a lack of effort and was going to trade everyone. Same thing is happening here in Toronto its ridiculous the writing is on the wall management cant believe their at fault so it has to be the players

I really don't care who is doing what, so long as a good job is being done and the team is getting better. Too much politics in all that. I really just care about the on-ice product.

heard about polak actually.. like the move.. another rightie back on the blue line
- Dozzer

I hope Gunnar bounces back, but it'd be really hard for Polak not to be an improvement over Gunnar the last couple of years.

Added to that, he's a better fit for the team(righty, as you said) and a shut-down guy.

Will have to wait and see just how he plays, but aside from us retaining salary, can't really complain about the deal.

Oh, and Tampa didn't QO Aulie, so I'd like him back, too.

If Phaneuf stays, he has to get off the right side, absolutely brutal clearing the puck on that side plus players blowing by him.
