That's true but hes been pretty good in the line up when he's not injured since coming to the leafs. Only thing that worries me is when he elevates his game you can see what a heart and soul guy he is. Others on this team including the captain don't show that. That was my only point. We need someone he s the team and lift them up

That's when having a coach the team can get behind helps, everything else falls in line after that. Lupuls best year for the Leafs was the lockout year, the man wanted to play hockey that year, broke his arm and came back like a man possessed who wanted to make up for lost time and made magic happen when he touched the puck, but that man was gone last year he seemed frustrated by a corporate crowd that was dead silent, and a coach who cant work a toaster let alone lead a team.

Wouldn't be a tough line by any means, but that line would play with a bit of an edge. Would have lots of speed and jam. I also agree that Clarkson should get a fair look at the 2nd line. He's here for the long term, so might as well try to make it worth. I think he bounces back.
- systemtool

I think it would be a great scoring line , and would help that 1st line when they eventually go on a slump.

I believe Clarkson bounces back as well.

Just dot trade Lupul ffs... He always gives everything he's got. A great leader an role model. Or a great regular model if that's your thing. But I get we have no use for him now that we got a Swedish stud for all the magazine covers. By loops

Im 50/50 on Carlyle. He has a ring, and led us to the playoffs, but I worry about the way he handles the young guys (Kadri,Gardiner, soon to be Nylander)

Why no talk of Statsny?

I mean, he's exactly the kind of player we lack right now...

But seriously, no matter what team you are a fan of, free agency hurts your team more often than not (unless maybe going after 3rd/4th liners). Can't get excited for that.

apparently they're trying to convince Gorges to waive his no trade clause to come to Toronto.

Supposed to be a forward going back the other way.

After the way they handled Luongo? And this guy wouldnt take that kind of treatment as well as strombone. Not many options I guess

Different contract, different demands by the player. Different situation entirely.
