Leafs have been smart so far in not signing any of these guys for the big money. Boyle wasn't a TERRIBLE signing at 2yrs/9mil. I wouldn't have touched Bolland at the money he got.

I'm not sure why Gorges nixed a deal to Toronto, but went to Buffalo? I never really wanted to Gorges, but it's not a terrible deal for a 2nd rounder.

honestly.

We "lost" with Gorges because he didn't want to play for a rival. He wound up in Buffalo because they weren't on his 15-team list, that included all the Canadian teams.

And we lost with Bolland, because they didn't want a 5.5M 3rd line center to go with their 5.25M 3rd line winger.

What's to complain about here? (frank), most people didn't even want Gorges
