... no that is clearly not what you are saying.
What you did say was that the Leafs lost their best possession players and therefore got worse.
By that logic, the Leafs would be a worse team than 2013 if some of the best players in the game played for them, who had worse possession stats than MacArthur or Grabovski.
You cannot have your arguement one way and your advanced stats have some glaring exceptions/holes. - Aetherial
i said its not a surprise they were a worse team...
Mac and Grab can also score also
your other point makes no sense to what I was saying

Komarov at just under 3mil...what a (frank)ing joke
Was there even a lockout? - AdamFrench
To be honest, 3rd line winger and go-to PKer... the deal isn't bad at all. Third line importance is growing, look at Pouliot. |

I am sure word gets around though.
Clearly something is making Toronto an unattractive destination. My guess is that it is a combination of Canadian Taxes, ridiculous media attention, the captain who is pretty clearly disliked around the league, and decades of consistently abysmal management.
I am not surprised at all that he wouldn't waive to come here. I am more surprised that anyone would sign with the Leafs at this point. - Aetherial
It didn't seem to bother Clarkson last year.
Is there a problem in Nashville? Is the captain hated? Is the spotlight of the media too harsh? Is the team not committed to winning?
Oh my God, Spezza refused to go there! |

Pretty comfortable with it based off of his Olympic play. Maybe a tad too high, but were not Chicago where players take less to play/compete for a cup. |

umm
Orpik, Bolland and just about everyone else. - LeafMan
Other idiots did those though.
Dale Tallon must be related to Bolland somehow, first he seems to purposefully wait beyond the deadline of contracts giving him his overpriced (at the time) first deal, now he straight up makes it rain on him. |

understood ...
Yes, LA agreed with the stats. Colorado was a glaring exception.
Leafs beat the stats for more than 100 games, but I keep seeing the 15 game sample, when the starting goalie went down, as a pro-stats example.
Has anyone looked at a correlation between player size and success? I bet LA is pretty close to the top? - Aetherial
last season the leafs were 38-44 .. the year before 26-23
so not even .500 team
I am not sure where you keep seeing the 15 game sample..as the evidence. |

You think Pouliot is a good signing for the Oilers? - Pecafan Fan
As a player, yes.
The contract is high, as is the term, but my only point is that our concepts of 3rd line valuations are becoming antiquated. 3rd line + great PK is becoming pretty damn important to teams. |

So he hates the Leafs. Hates them so much that he refuses to play for them.
Yet he has small talk with Leafs players all the time, who fill him in on how bad the dressing room is?
OK, that makes perfect sense.

I see.
In 2012 the main PKers were McClement and Kulemin though, with Bozak taking the draw and sprinting to the bench when he had a chance. Komarov was the fourth guy in. |
