How could Gorges possibly know about the locker room dynamic?
He's never been in the Leafs' locker room. |

Funny you mention that, I just rewatched the Forsberg draft, he looked like a little boy Foppa. At 18, the body still has growing to do. There are exceptions, ie. Ekblad, but I imagine Nylander will fill out and look more like his pops in time. - mykokes
Biggest change I remember is Stalberg. Got drafted 5'9, debuted with the Leafs at 6'3.

there are too many points to address them all. kina all over the place
but if your way to disprove them is saying Colorado was 27th and made the playoffs.. then me saying LA was the #1 corsi/fenwick team and won the cup is just as valid. (note I am not saying that)
on the Bolded.. nobody is saying its perfect.. thats acknowledged by anyone who is into them.. and they are constantly being improved - senstroll
understood ...
Yes, LA agreed with the stats. Colorado was a glaring exception.
Leafs beat the stats for more than 100 games, but I keep seeing the 15 game sample, when the starting goalie went down, as a pro-stats example.
Has anyone looked at a correlation between player size and success? I bet LA is pretty close to the top? |

if u ask me, they gotta move reimer even if for a 7th rounder.
i think him being in the dressing room is now a downer to the other players.
i dunno why, but i think that the meltdown and him losing his job makes the players feel weird around him, just a hunch. - big_dion

It's funny how nobody wants to mention that Gionta is going to the Sabres - may have been a factor in Gorges wanting to go there.
But the Leafs Suck thingy is probably easier to type... |

oh I knew about the Leafs stuff ...
I just never really understood why the Habs were unloading him in the first place. I was not real familiar with how well he did or didn't play, but they had him up with Subban so the fact that they were willing to dump him for pretty much nothing didn't make sense. - Aetherial
He is a "warrior". But his skills set is limited. He blocks shots, but that's pretty much all he does (which isn't a good thing if you ask me). |

It's now up to league max. - Feeling Glucky?
Like every other Leafs player. They are already overpiad (for the most part) i have no idea why people add on more salary when proving a point.
At one point Komisarek was making a shade over 6 mil i believe. I've seen Dion at 9 mil for 8 years. Kessel's on a strange 9x9 deal.
I feel for these guys around tax season, trying to convince their accountant they don't make 8 mil a year, when their accountant has been on HB and TSN. |

I am sure word gets around though.
Clearly something is making Toronto an unattractive destination. My guess is that it is a combination of Canadian Taxes, ridiculous media attention, the captain who is pretty clearly disliked around the league, and decades of consistently abysmal management.
I am not surprised at all that he wouldn't waive to come here. I am more surprised that anyone would sign with the Leafs at this point.

Or maybe they don't want to be the next Tim Connolly/David Clarkson/Mike Komisarek. A lot of guys have come here and had their careers ended. |

With the way professional sports is now. Big names switching to rival teams. It is so refreshing to see someone say that they wont play for a hated team. It had nothing to do with the leafs being bad. He waived to buffalo for (frank) sakes. Steve simmons is an idiot. And proving it with that article - Lee Denault
