I still don't understand the D'Amigo for Frattin trade. They're the same guy, with D'Amigo being younger. Ah well, Kadri and Lupul probably wanted their old linemate back. |

I don't mind that we didn't sign any big names to stupid money.
But why did we sign a nobody to stupid money?
Komarov for almost $4 million a year X 4 years?
This is pure insanity. - Atomic Wedgie

If they can get Josh Georges for the rights to franson...imagine what they could get if they threw in Lupul or kadri. - lmrick76
Getting rid of Lupul for the sake of just getting rid of him like many here want will be a huge mistake, secondary scoring was a big problem last year and he was the only one who helped in that category plus add in his shootout success. |

2.75M isn't even 3M, AW. I don't get why we went so high on him, but if he can be our superpest and chip in 10-15 goals in his 2nd NHL season, i won't complain at all. |

I'd imagine they would prefer to trade Lupul more than Kadri. Although i am not sure they would want to trade either unless it's for a top 6 center of top 2 dman, which probably wouldn't happen. - walshyleafsfan
They can't replace Lupul's production, there was a chance to get Vanek or Moulson but now there are no other options. Unless it's Lupul ina trade for another winger that can produce 20-30 goals |

You mean $3 M I think. I agree though overpayment by $700K or so. That's free agency though.
If that's what it took I would have made that deal too. |

Montreal wanted Gorges contract off the books.
They obviously didn't care for a return. |

I wasn't pleased with Lupul's style of play last season. That said, maybe he'll bounce back. He's only 30. |

Bozak did just fine there last season. He faded down the stretch but so did the whole team. I really do think he can be our Andy McDonald. |

Why?
What is your opinion on the urgent need to get rid of Gorges. Was he not playing top-pairing D minutes with Subban on a team that very nearly made it to the SCF?

I don't mind Fans complaining. Heck it's fun.. but bring a reasonable solution. just don't complain.
Based on what was available what should Nonis have done differently.? - D.Lemieux
Besides fantasy moves like landing Stastny, I would've liked Shawn Thorton on the 4th line to replace Orr as a puncher. |

he did do 'just fine' - maybe he would be better off on the PK if he played less minutes.
he did better last season than i thought he would do. i do give him credit. |

He was the weakest link. Couldn't help Subban and is on the hook for the next 4 years.
From what I understand, the Leafs made an offer for him saturday, Habs asked he waived his NTC to go to Toronto and he said no. At that point, every teams knew he was on the market. |

And most of those are developed internally. And don't take this as me saying he is a #1 center....but Bozak was producing like one last season. |

With the way professional sports is now. Big names switching to rival teams. It is so refreshing to see someone say that they wont play for a hated team. It had nothing to do with the leafs being bad. He waived to buffalo for (frank) sakes. Steve simmons is an idiot. And proving it with that article - Lee Denault
Why does he keep going on about the need to replace Bolland?
There's nothing to replace - he didn't play for practically the entire year. |
