Can someone explain how giving Stralman mucho dollars and term...when you already have McDonagh, Girardi, Klein, staal (assuming they extend him) and Moore likely to get at least 2 years committed on defense...is a smart move? Your blocking your entire prospect pool which is probably are deepest position on the farm. I don't get the logic by fans wanting to overpay in years and money for him.

It's a smart move not resigning him.

If Stralman was willing to take no more than 4 for 4 years or something like that, i would have no problem bringing him back. Anything over 4 is too much for Stralman.

The turnover on this team will really suck, you would think Sather learned from the 2012 off season and losing so many role players. Our system really doesn't have much to fill from within. But on the other hand can you pay a D-man that score 1 goal 4.5-5m? We know Boyle is great as a 4th line and pk specialist, he'll be a huge disappointment anywhere else in the line up. Same thing for Pouliot, he's played well second half of the year once they found chemistry, wherever he goes that team will be hugely disappointed, it's not like he's a 20-goal guy. Dom Moore situation is a bad move on Sather's part, who cares if we give him 3 years, we don't develop players in Hartford for step in for 4th line duty, those guys need to be pk and face-off specialist and you don't get that in younger guys.

It's the years that worry me with him not so much the money. Unless your trading staal or Moore it really baffles me why most are bent out of shape by the likelihood he's gone. I just don't get it

Dan Carcillo would you like to play hockey with a big boy team in a country that speaks English next year? Great. Sign this contract and be happy about it. Negotiation over

I want nothing to do with him. At any price. He's 38 and we're going to expect him to come in and qb the pp and put up 40+ points and we're all going to be VERY disappointed.
