Geordie Clark has done such a good job in the draft, to get 3 players in the 3rd round that look like steals is amazing - KreiderBomb
Just a note of caution in that we have had those later picks that looked like steals before (Grachev, Thomas, etc.) and they didn't end up working out. These guys do look really promising, but we'll see. |

Duclair was creating offense but couldn't finish. Pat Leonard describes him as athletic, shifty, smart. Calls him "a player" and loves his game. - rangerdanger94
Oh cool, he's Rick Nash. |
|
|
|
It does make sense that Duclair isn't ready this year. The guys that have played in the A and some at the NHL level (Miller, Fast, etc.) are the guys that are way more likely to make the jump next year. Duclair still needs some time. The question is whether he will sustain his level in juniors this year, or will he take a step back (i.e., Christian Thomas). - Pete V
I believe this kid is still only 18 years old.
From what I've read, his 5 on 5 play needs to be improved. Apparently a lot of his points come on special teams. Buchnevich sounds like he's ahead of Duclair currently both in terms of present ability and potential. |

Yea. Rick Nash...the guy who was on pace to score 30 goals last year in what many consider his worst year in his NHL career. |

I'd rather have him than Glass, Sather is a pushover for free agents, he loves to overpay a goon once per offseason |

no matter what he does next year, all year long people aren't going to shut up about his inability to score during the playoffs.
But, I think he is a guarantee to hit 30 regular season goals if he stays healthy and we definitely are going to need them |

Sorry guys, I'd like to continue posting so Dan Boyle is the greatest thing to happen to the Rangers, he is obviously the missing piece that will get us over the hump, my apologies for being skeptical |

It's okay, you can get back to posting how losing Brian Boyle is the worst thing to happen to the Rangers ever and how we're obviously gonna finish last in the league with no 1st round pick because of it |

Just a few things:
1. All good teams have to let guys go, because they price themselves out of the team's salary structure.
2. All good teams need to find effective replacements for those guys, who can play on entry level contracts.
3. The success or lack thereof of point number 2 depends upon whether a club can draft and develop the necessary players to step into key roles vacated by guys that took big contract elsewhere.
4. IMO, and this is solely my opinion, you have to watch how much money you spend on a fourth line, no matter how important that fourth line may be. You have to do that, because if you don't, then you are complaining about either your second or third line.
4. I find it amazing how a player can be dog sh*t in the eyes of the fanbase for months on end, and then obtain hero status when they hit free agency based solely on how they are playing at that particular moment in time. If a player is in a slump, he sucks, let him go. If a player is playing well, he is the most important player in the world, and can't be let go for any reason. Shouldn't we look at the bigger picture when assessing anyone value to the team, and whether they should be re-signed or let go.
5. There is plenty of time before next year's playoffs to deal with roster deficiencies. Teams aren't built exclusively in the first week of July.
6. We all knew that some version of this was coming based on salary cap issues, which are unavoidable for any team. Time for the young guys to step up. |

I am gonna be such a Richard next year on here if Dan Boyle works out - jimbro83
I'm 100% fine with the Boyle signing. Just didn't like seeing Strals walk for the erroneously reported 4 mil per price tag. Even at 38 i think Boyle can put up over 10 goals easy next year. |
