I don't think Dan Boyle has regressed so much defensively that he can be considered a significant "downgrade" to Stralman in that regard though either.

The Sharks had 111 points this year and Boyle was one of their leaders in icetime.

Sorry I just don't believe this improves the Rangers that much. Especially on the power play.

Richards had 5 goals, 19 points and averaged 3:40 of PP time per game.

Dan Boyle had 6 goals, 18 points and averaged 3:38 of PP time per game.

The only thing that puzzles me the most from yesterday is the Glass signing. I slept on it, and I still see no positive with that signing. Do I think this makes the team significantly worse, not really. I look at it as a money issue, and we have Haley who does exactly what Glass does, but is younger, faster and cheaper.

I read a bit on Glass from the Rangers site. He is a hit machine and does block shots. Let's hope he can play on the PK and not take many bad penalties. I think he'll work out ok. Though, I am still not thrilled about the contract $$$.

Agreed. Though it would have cost a tad more money (there are local taxes here in NY unlike FLA), but we know what we had and it worked out great with Staal.

The end of the day this is our team going into next year. Dan Boyle is here and Starlman is not. People can hate it if they want but when the games start they gotta get on board.
