The Rangers drafted Keegan Iverson with the pick they got for Dorsett. As most Rangers fans seem to really like that pick (best of the draft?), I'll take Glass and Iverson for Dorsett.

Sather's biggest job this offseason is signing Kreider and Zuccarello long term; signing Brassard; and possibly, signing Staal and Stepan (and maybe Hagelin) to long term extensions. If the Rangers accomplish those moves and they can get one more NHL forward, I'd consider this free agency period a success.

If they accomplish those re-signings, the core of the team remains intact. As much as I like Brian Boyle and Anton Stralman, they are complementary pieces that can be replaced; maybe, even internally. For his sake, I hope that Pouliot has blossomed but let's see him now without the nurturing of Vigneault and as a main player as opposed to the complementary player he was here.

Glass lies to hit and block shots. Nothing wrong there. I liked Boyle's game when he used his size and ran people over; though, he rarely did that. I will miss his faceoff ability and hope D Moore can pick up where he left off last season so we don't miss Boyle's presence in the dot much at all.

I don't get Glass for 1.45 mil. Goc signed for 1.2, Havlat 1.5, D Moore 1.5, Thornton 1.2, Malhotra 800k, etc. Wtf was Sather doing there.

Whether anyone likes it or not, the fact is the Rangers accomplished exactly what they set out to do yesterday. They targeted Dan Boyle and Tanner Glass in the 5 day talking period and got them and apparently they weren't interested at all in bringing Brian Boyle back.

The team is still a work in progress, the season isn't starting today and we still have Henrik Lundqvist and Ryan McDonagh, so everyone get off the god damn ledge.

Yep they said they weren't done yet. Plus now some of the prospects have a legit chance of making the team up front. Something all of us wanted. I admit, the only deal I don't agree with is Glass. But he is a Ranger now, so I will get on board with it and hope for the best. Just hope he bring some energy to the 4th line, help kill penalties and not take dumb ones in the process

Did they Boo Brashear a few years ago? I would have thought there was a case for that. I think Glass might be a pleasant surprise. There were many times during the season that we need a momentum change. I think Glass can do that, but I agree that he cant take stupid penalties. I envision him getting shift against Crosby and nailing him with a clean solid check.
