If Gorton is really calling some of the shots, then he knows some of the kids are ready to make the NHL next season. That wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I guarantee that is the reason. And Tampa will find out they have a really good 4th liner who isn't very good outside that roll. Everyone just assumes we could have signed him and he would stay on the 4th line. The guy came out and specifically said he doesn't want to be a 4th liner.

Yeah, we would have had to have been around 2.75 maybe more. Too much in my opinion for the way our cap is. Also Tampa might have a spot for him on a 3rd line. Although I think he will be a 4th liner there also.

Could not disagree more.
Boyle, although a decent playoff, is dead weight. Dan Boyle is an upgrade over Stralman and only signed for 2 years.
Never did I see this coming with all this squabble and crying over a marginal # 4 dman and a 4th liner.

Signing pouliot at that price the oilers gave him is insanity. Love that we wouldn't/couldn't match
