Why's that bad? 6.9 over 3 years. Makes sense.

2.3 for a 4th liner. Way too much for a 4th liner. I have no problem with Boyle going.

I would have given Boyle that deal. Again, with this tax thing in Florida again if it would have taken more, who knows

Brian Boyle to TB. Three years, $2.3M AAV.

I am really pissed off at this one. Maybe he wanted to play with Cally and maybe he wanted third line duty, but for what he got and what NY paid Glass, not bringing Boyle back is stupid.

This has so far been a p!ss poor offseason for Sather. I don't care about the positive vibes on the D Boyle signing. I personally think it's a crap deal. For nearly the same $$$, we could have kept Stralman (I know there's no local taxes in FLA) and solidified our D to what was great last season. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!

People say if you resign Stralman, you lose Staal. Wrong. D Boyle's deal is two years and Staal needs to be resigned before this time next season.

As far as the powerplay...it already got better with Richard's departure!!!

I only like the D Moore signing. The rest suck a$$.

Yeah, we would have had to have been around 2.75 maybe more. Too much in my opinion for the way our cap is. Also Tampa might have a spot for him on a 3rd line. Although I think he will be a 4th liner there also.

Correction: Boyle's AAV in TB is $2M, not $2.3M. Bad typing error by me. Regret the inconvenience.

So he's not fast either?
- Slimtj100

He is definitely not fast. I'm stunned anybody would sign him after his two years in Pittsburgh.

I'll say this, he had about 3 or 4 games where he had massive hits. Hit everything that moved. Other than that, was a total slug. Sorry...

Losing Boyle for $2.3M is the worst part of this day. I know it's an overpayment but I would have signed him for up to $2.5M...and no one would have complained bc they wouldn't have to watch Glass eat up $1.45M.
