I'll take Stralman at 4 mill over boyle at 4.5 million for 2 years. Stralman a lot younger, better in his own zone.

Your just not grasping the point of it all

If Sather wanted to walk away from Stralman to save money for forward depth that is fine. Letting him walk for free and then signing Boyle for more money does not make sense.

This really isn't about Stralman vs Boyle to me. This is:

Legwand/B Boyle - D Boyle/Glass

We've now officially turned Anton Stralman into Bobby Orr, and Dan Boyle into Roman Hamerlik.

Put me in the camp of preferring Boyle on the short term, rather than a 5 year deal for Stralman, which the organization may regret when a few of these prospects we all love so much take the next step.

I'm not trying to be crabby here, but what about Anton Stralman's long term track record makes this guy so irreplaceable?

No one is saying to sacrifice the youth, but to pay 500k more for a 38 yo d-man when we had steady stralman waiting to be signed for 5x4 is absurd.
