Here's what I don't get. Weren't you the one saying you don't like to tie up that much money in defense and then we just tied up that money in defense. I don't like havign a mobile Dman signed till he is 40 on a NMC that will restrict how we can improve, or negate the damage done to our forwards. Sorry.

Also, many of the same guys that we are complaining about leaving town last year were signed by Slats from the scrapheap on great short term deals. Does he get credit for signing Moore, Pouilot, Zucc, et. in the first place. Or acquiring Brian Boyle for a third round pick?

On the contrary. That's awesome. The Caps are stuck with Orpik and that contract. This is the best upgrade the Rangers and any other Eastern Conference team will receive all day.
